Lots and Lots and Lots of 'Cloverfield'

I'm thinking this will be my last official post on Cloverfield. I've decided not to review the film, and after all the stuff that's hit the net today, there's really nothing else left to say. That photo above is one of 25 Paramount has released online, none of which feature the actual monster (which is the only thing we haven't see from this movie yet). But it's okay, because even though they haven't released a photo of the monster, someone leaked the film's production notes online and they pretty much describe the monster, the film, the plot -- EVERYTHING -- in fine detail. Aside from the 25 production photos and production notes, you also have the option to watch a few more TV clips, as well as the already-released trailers.
Can I just ask ... what's left? Seriously. What's left to know? I mean, the production notes? (In case you were wondering, production notes are little booklets handed out to the press prior to press screenings, and they include all sorts of junk: plot, interviews, behind the scenes info, etc ... ) Anyway, feel free to head on over to Coming Soon to check out all of what I've explained above. And if you want to attempt to go into this film fresh, do yourself a favor and stay away from the production notes. They will spoil it for you. Cloverfield (oh how I'll miss writing that title) arrives in theaters next Friday, January 18.

Meh. Nothing here that wasn't available through other sources, frankly. In fact, wouldn't it be swell if the "production notes" were a red herring? Doubt it, and the fanboy sites would probably get up in arms. And, frankly, even with this amount of exposure, I'm still going to see the flick -- that nausea-inducing handicamerawork has got me hooked.

Let's look at this photo, shall we. First of all, I don't give a shi*t about 3 out of state hipster f*ckwads walking around as if they've seen the second coming, New York's hipster minority needs to be spread across the third rail and left to rot. Second, can someone say apocolyptic hegemony, with the white troops around these f*ckwads. Not only do I hate everything about this movie so far (in reality out of state hipster f*ckwads would never have the balls to leave their $2500 a month apartments in any crisis), but WTF with the Alba lookalike -- can some say token puertoriccan. And can someone shoot the Alley Sheedy impersonator, boo hoo, your mascara is running. Stupid apocalyptic played out plotlines and ridiculous marketing campaigns can eat my balls. Nothing original here, just some Dawsons Creek BS mixed with Independance Day, fear based BS.

Does no one else believe this is the cloverfield monster? It was designed by Peter Konig, the art director for the film.. and look at that nasty three clawed hand it could have made thoes gashes in the statue of liberty in the movie poster.

That is NOT the monster. It has been debunked several times already. I'm not going to say way as to be a spoiler, but it's NOT.
And I'm glad you aren't going to review the movie, Erik. Because you are a big whiny baby. I mean, jesus, how many movies in production today do you know absolutely NOTHING about? At least Cloverfield TRIED to be a nice surprise. And while I fear it will end up stinking like the American Godzilla, I give props to JJ for at least giving it a go to make an American monster movie.
