Jennifer Hudson -- Almost Part of 'The Family That Preys'

Well, Tyler Perry has been outed as a possible roid-rager, and I'm sure it has made plenty of fans look at him just a little differently. Now, the man famous for dressing up in a housecoat has decided to take a stab at something just a little more dramatic, 'cause goodness knows, he could probably use the change. Variety reports that Jennifer Hudson is currently in talks to star in his family drama, Tyler Perry's The Family That Preys -- now I know I am not the first person to comment on this, but really, does he have to put his name in the title of every single film that he makes? Perry will direct and star along with Sanaa Lathan, Kathy Bates, Alfre Woodard and Rockmond Dunbar (Prison Break). Perry also wrote the script, which is about two families who become intertwined due to relationships in love and business. The film will mark the first time that Perry has included white actors in the major storyline of the film -- but I can't say that it is really going to matter. Let's just say that I'm enough of a cynic to pretty much assume that any Tyler Perry film isn't exactly going to rock my world. But it's not like I've never been proven wrong about this kinds of things, so you never know. Hudson is still hard at work filming the big-screen version of Sex in The City (as Carrie's assistant, or better known as the "sassy black female friend #1703") as well as The Secret Life of Bees (based on the critically acclaimed coming-of-age novel by Sue Monk Kidd). The Family that Preys is set to start shooting March 2 at Tyler Perry Studios in Atlanta. After an Oscar and a slew of high-profile roles, is it wrong to suggest that maybe Hudson should steer clear of this particular film?

I think that it is good that Jennifer is going to be apart of Tylers movie. I feel all actors and actresses should act in various movies and leave their options open for various roles. Simon told Jennifer should would not be successful and look at what a liar she made him out to be. As for Tyler he is a bless and talented actor/writer so you need to stop hating on what he is doing for himself and how he is thinking of his race to bring them along for the ride. It is about time someone of the black race become successful and try to reach down and pull their race up to that level they are at. Go ahead Tyler, Jennifer, and anyone who is apart of his prodjects. No one is mad but whoever wrote this article.

Yes it is.
And T.P.'s name sells tickets. I'm thinking that has something to do with why it's in the title of every single film that he makes. In the 21st Century it's all about being a "brand". I think he's a bigger brand than you people realize.

Ahh geez. The author of this article doesn't like Tyler Perry movies. That's hardly hating on Tyler Perry. His movies make a profit continually, and we all know that. I don't like his movies either, but that doesn't make him any less enjoyable to people who do. I also don't like Star Trek, or Chronicles of Narnia, or Micheal Moorer movies. Except in the case of Moorer, I'm a hater hehe.
Jessica is simply pointing out that he rarely includes white people in his movies, which may be why he isn't as popular among white people as say, Denzel Washington or Morgan Freeman. Attempting to protray someone who doesn't see things your way as a "hater" is pretty narrow-minded.

There's an assumption on the writer's part that H. Hud can afford to turn down parts. Cause we all know that there is just a plethora of parts for an average sized, African American actress in Hollywood. I don't love Tyler Perry, but i'm not mad at her for working, either.
