Live from Sundance: It's Cold, but William Hurt is Hot

Earlier today, the woman standing behind me in line at the Eccles Theater actually said to her friend, "Ya know, I think it's getting warmer." Warmer? What Park City planet are you living on? While it's still pretty damn cold here in Utah (no nosebleeds yet!), I just caught one helluva performance from William Hurt in Yellow Handkerchief. Such a horrible title, but Hurt plays this ex-con who's battling lots of demons in the back of a car driving across Louisiana. I'll review the film in a bit, but I needed to jump on to say how nice it was to finally get out of the cold and into the darkened Eccles Theater. And what a magnificent theater it is.

Tonight I head off to see a documentary on Roman Polanski, called Roman Polanski. Really? Do we need a whole doc on the guy's idiotic decisions in life? From there, Kim and I head to Gen Art's 7 Fresh Faces in Film event (hosted by Jason Reitman), and then it's over to a crazy karaoke party hosted by Magnolia Films and The Alamo Drafthouse. Check out a photo from inside the Eccles Theater below, then head after the jump for a few more ...

Outside the Eccles Theater.

Waiting for a shuttle back to the hotel ... and it's not THAT cold ...

Yeah, I'd say there's just a tiny bit of snow on the ground ...
