Confirmed: Jon Favreau's Cameo in 'Iron Man'

A whole crop full of new photos from Iron Man have arrived online (via Gizmodo); two of which clearly show director Jon Favreau in full suit, as a bodyguard of some sort for Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.). The photo above shows Stark at a casino table with Jim Rhodes (Terrence Howard) and Favreau, while the photo below shows Favreau carrying Stark's clothing. (Is it just me, or does Favreau look as if he's auditioning for Men in Black 3?) Among the other photos, there's a pretty cool one of Obadiah Stane (Jeff Bridges), and then more of Stark in various Iron Man suits. Check out a bunch more after the jump; Iron Man arrives in theaters on May 2.

I think he suits the part just fine.

Hmm, somewhere in dim memory, I remember very early comicgeek speculation Jon might show up as Tony's chauffeur/bodyguard, 'Happy' Hogan. This was even before R.D. Jr. had been cast, in fact. Hogan always seemed he'd make a better sidekick on film than in the comics -- the mopey ex-pug who never smiled. ("This IS me smilin'!"). Hard characterization to get across in the comics.

Wow, a director who managed to get himself into his own film. This is insanity!
I wonder if Chris Nolan will be in TDK. He could be Alfred's butler. Which would make him the butler of a butler. Think about it.

Looks like Favreau's slimmed down a bit since the last time I saw him doing promo work for Elf. Good to see he's taking better care of himself, and even better to see him on the glamorous side of the camera again.
5th pic down: what a way to ruin a Cobra.
