SXSW Watch: 'Not Your Typical Bigfoot Movie' and More!

Filed under: SXSW, Fandom, Movie Marketing, Trailers and Clips

And we continue along with our pre-coverage of the South by Southwest Film Festival with three more trailers this time (I didn't put them all in the title, because the three titles are hella long). The first trailer (seen above) is from a flick called Not Your Typical Bigfoot Movie. From what we hear, this could be one of the more buzzed-about films coming out of the festival this year; with the words 'cult hit' written all over it. It's being described by some as American Movie meets Harry and the Hendersons -- which automatically means I'll be there to see it. The director, Jay Delaney, emailed me this morning to give me the scoop on his film (not the only email I'm getting about this one, mind you), and he seems like a nice guy; good people. Here's the synopsis: "Through the experiences of two amateur bigfoot researchers in southern Ohio, we see how the power of a dream can bring two men together and provide a source of hope and meaning." For more, check out the film's official website ... and if you likey likey, we'll make a point to chat with Jay about his film while in Austin.

More trailers (for The Amazing Truth About Queen Raquela and Flying on One Engine) after the jump ...

[via Matt Dentler]

The Amazing Truth About Queen Raquela: "Raquela is looking for a way out of her tireless job as a "ladyboy" prostitute, which brings her to Iceland with some unexpected outcomes."

Flying on One Engine: "The documentary story of an Indian-American surgeon who, despite being critically ill himself and living in a one-room Brooklyn apartment, travels back to India every year to perform marathon surgery "camps" where he repairs the cleft lips of 700 children in a week."
