New 'WALL-E' Image
Filed under: Animation, Fandom, DIY/Filmmaking, Images
Disney/Pixar has sent us a new image from this summer's WALL-E (click on the photo for a larger version), due out in theaters on June 27. WALL-E is the latest film from those wizards over at Pixar, and it follows a lonely robot in the year 2700 who spends his days doing what he was made for (cleaning up trash, etc). However, he will soon discover what he was meant for. Andrew Stanton (Finding Nemo) directs the flick, which, honestly, looks like the cutest friggin' thing ever. Each and every time I see a photo or a trailer for WALL-E, I have an urge to reach out and hug the thing. I can't believe we're only two months away from summer already -- is it just me, or is time flying?
Thoughts on WALL-E? Do you think it will be better than Ratatouille?

I really didn't care for Ratatouille, I thought it was a sniveling nasty adult film masuerading as a children's film. I'd prefer something that is more for the whole family, which I think Wall-E will be (plus the creators have said it will be "R2-D2 meets City Lights", which sounds like a delicious mash up.

Your views on Ratatouille are quite possibly the farthest from the truth. I am shocked by such ignorance. I'm sure you found the Shrek franchise to be of higher esteem.

When I first heard about Walle, I was not excited. The Pixar guys, creators of some of the best family films, were going to waste their time with a robot that can't even talk?
But now that I've seen the trailer and, well, you put it perfectly. Cutest friggin' thing ever. And I should have known. R2-D2, anyone?
I definitely think Walle's going to be better than Ratatouille, but I was never really blown away by that movie in the first place. Now, will it be cuter than the Yoda-meets-R2D2 scene in Empire? That's the real question.

The character design is huge rip-off of "Short Circuit" robot
Johny 5. I'd be surprised if there wasn't a law suit at one point. Obviously, Wall-e will be so much better than the god awful short-circuit movies. Especially the sequel. Good lord.
That was shockingly awful.

I think we're a little more than two months from summer...two months from now would be April, after all.
