Hey movie fans, here's a question: Do you presently own that 4-disc Adventures of Indiana Jones box-set? The one with all three movies and an extra disc with a bunch of supplemental stuff? And if so, are you pleased with this possession? Do you feel it somehow demands an upgrade? Then here's some good news: Just in time for the theatrical release of Indiana Jones and the Location of an Amazingly Wordy Relic ... new DVDs! Yeah, I'd probably be a little more excited if someone had forced George Lucas, Steven Spielberg and Harrison Ford to sit down and record some audio commentaries -- but I guess those will have to wait for Indy's 50th Anniversary Collection.
According to DVDActive, the new Indy DVDs (available separately or as a box-set) will arrive on May 13, and as far as "new goodies" are concerned, I'm not overtly impressed. You won't find a bigger Indy fan than yours truly, and I highly doubt I'll be investing another $50 on this set. I'll just wait for the next one. (After the jump: All the extra features!)

I can't stand this! I'm fine with what I have. I'll wait and see what the DVD release of "Crystal Skull" brings come the Holidays.
We'll never get a commentary outta Ford or Spielberg.....there's just no way. Lucas, on the other hand, loves to blab.

This is perfect for me because I wanted to own the first one, but not the inferior sequels. They never sold them separately before.

So lemme get this straight. We already bought the box set. Now they want us to buy it again because it has a few measly additional features. And then they'll surely want us to buy it AGAIN this Christmas when they re-release it with "Kingdom of the Crystal Skull" included. Yep, this is definitely a George Lucas operation.

No one is forcing anyone who bought the set before to buy the new one. Are the few additional special features that worthy?
There is nothing wrong with the double dip on this set:
A. With the new movie, a bunch of people will be exicted about Indy again. More sales for the set
B. Being able to buy them individually is good. I am not thrilled that I had to buy Last Crusade (crap) to get Ark and Doom (far superior films) but cest la vie.
If you really feel you need to see these features, rent it when it comes out.

It's kind of a catch 22: If they take their time with all the extras and don't rush it out right away, people will complain and turn to piracy. If they do sell it, then add to it later then people complain it's a digital double dib.

I *just* bought the DVD set too. There was no excuse for not loading that up with special features OR saving it all for the inevitably 4 movie set.
I would have loved to have seen some of the special features on this set, but I don't need them that badly.

Shrug, I just sold our 4 disc DVD set to secondspin.com - $15. We just got rid of all our DVDs as we realized we never watch them.
