See "Leatherheads" for Free!

It's a good day for me when I get to see George Clooney on-screen in anything (or even better, in less than anything, but he doesn't tend to go there, sadly). Now you have a chance to see Clooney in his latest film, Leatherheads, for free! The title of the film makes me think of horror films, but Leatherheads, directed by and starring Clooney, is really a romantic comedy set in the world of 1920s football, when players wore helmets made out of leather rather than the high-tech, head-protecting gear they don today. The film co-stars Renée Zellweger as Clooney's beloved, and John Krasinski as war hero and football star Clooney recruits to help his floundering team. You can sign up for your chance to win tickets right over here. And if you do get tickets to a screening, be sure to let us know what you think of the film. I'm particularly curious to see what kind of chemistry Clooney and Zellweger have -- she wouldn't be my first choice to star alongside him, so I'm wondering how they are on-screen.

I can see it working. From what little I've seen of this one, I like the looks of it.

Same problem here. Are you two both using Firefox like I am?

It looks like the form is just broken overall. It's not browser specific (checked in IE and FF). Whatever script they are using to check for valid email format is broken.

This movie looks so cute! You're right, Leatherheads definitely sounds like a horror flick. I think they could've done better.
Too bad, the sweepstakes page is broken. :o(

Those characters at the end are a "regular expression". It's in the source code and is used to verify that the email is the correct format "name@isp.com" for instance.
Basically, by looking at it I can see the expression is wrong.
In order for it to verify the format "name@isp.com", it should be "/.+\@.+\..+/" however they have two extra "\" in there.
When I put in the email "name\@isp\.com" it works. It is expecting those two extra "\" in your email address. I'm a Perl programmer by the way, and this is what I do every day. ;)

Hi folks,
We're aware there's a problem with the "Leatherheads" form, and we're working on getting someone at that end to fix it. As soon as it's working, I'll post an update to let you know. Thanks for your patience -- great to see so many folks are interested in the film!

My question is I did get it to go through (followed that format), will my entry be invalidated?

As a previous poster stated, do this:
"When I put in the email "name\@isp\.com" it works". It worked fine when I did that. Good luck.

Or if you corrected the validator in-form to submit a valid address does that make me a winner? :-) Seriously though, having a server side validator and including the validator in the post data is a kin to the way early ecommerce stores would send the price to the server as part of the request. By formating the request, no hard feat, you could buy that new TV for pennies -- or in some cases get cash back when you submitted a negative price.

It seems to be working now. Instead of getting the error message, I got a "thank you for signing up" message.
