Is Hayden Christensen the New Superman?

Take from this what you will, but Cinema Blend is reporting on a tip they received from someone who was hanging with Adam Brody in a bar up in British Columbia. What's Brody doing there? Well, apparently some of the cast is with George Miller scouting locations for Justice League Mortal. (Not sure why they'd be up there with the director scouting, but let's roll with it for now ...) Anyway, Brody, Miller and a few others were in a bar, getting wasted, when this girl (who wrote into CB) asked him what they all were doing there. Naturally he said they were scouting for Justice League Mortal (which recently had to shift production from Australia to Canada). Then it gets interesting.Here's her full quote: "George is our director. He said he's playing The Flash, Common is playing Green Arrow (or Lantern, one or the other), Armie Hammer (sounded like Arm and Hammer) is Batman, someone from "mad max" is Martian Man-hunter (didn't catch the name) and Hayden Christensen is Superman. Brody also nodded to the woman to his right and said "she (he said her name but I didn't catch it) is in it too". Oh, and they had lots of drinks." While I'm very reluctant to believe this one, on the other hand I could totally buy them wanting Christensen to play Superman. He'd bring some more "celebrity" to the cast, even though the fanboys who hated him Star Wars would hate him again -- even more this time -- for Superman. Should be interesting to see this one play out, as Justice League Mortal is supposed to begin shooting this summer.

Ah yes, how to create the perfect super hero turd. This could be great if the keep adding horrible actors like this guy to the list. In the end it will be so far fetched, it will be laughable and won't hurt the Dark Knight franchise which is doing well. I hope Miller includes Happy Feet in the league...

Does the role of Superman require more charisma than a black hole? No. So that's one tick in HC's favour. I can't bloody stand his voice though, so I'd rather he wasn't present (in anything).

Well time to piss everyone off, I think Hayden Christensen is a good actor. I loved his job as Anakin Skywalker because his dry style fit the heartlessness of Vader perfect. I loved Jumper and Shattered Glass was a really good flick too. Honestly him playing Superman makes this movie better to me.
Now if you wanna bitch about Common as Green Lantern I'll agree because while I do understand that JohnStewart is the popular GL today with that damn JLU show I think the best Green Lantern and only Green Lantern for the big screen is HAL JORDAN!

You thought/think Vader was heartless... no, his problem was he was too passionate and unable to control his emotions which is why/how palpatine was able to use his fear, anger, jealousy to turn him to the dark side. And in this regard, Hayden's dry performance failed miserably, he does not come across as someone filled with so much emotion and passion that he's driven mad by them. He never comes across as being so full of fear and regret that he's willing to betray everyone in order to placate those feelings.

First of all, he's way too scrawny to play this type of role. Second, while great acting ability is not required for a superhero action flick, some ability is needed. Hayden Christensen is a crap actor at best. He's the Mark Hamill of the prequel film (although that's kind of an insult to Mark Hamill).

Re: Mark Hamill's acting - remember the Dagobah swamp sequence when all we saw was umpteen minutes of Yoda training Luke? Without Mark's acting, we wouldn't have believed in the puppet voiced by Frank Oz - there would be no Yoda.
