Jennifer Aniston Forms a Production Company

It was just last month that word broke about Virginia Madsen starting her own production company. Now Variety reports that Jennifer Aniston is, as well, along with producer, filmmaker, and friend Kristin Hahn. The company is called Echo Films, and it's gearing up with a first-look deal at Universal. Where Madsen's company is more about the production aspects, than her own work as an actress, it seems that this company will focus on starring vehicles for Aniston. So you should expect a lot more cinematic work from the actress in the coming years.

Hahn says: "We particularly like working from books and real-life stories about distinct characters that embody something relatable and relevant about human nature's double-sided coin of vulnerability and mettle." This, Aniston says, is what inspired their company's name: "to echo back an idea, a challenge, something that resonates through all of us."
But on to the all projects they've nabbed:

Getting Rid of Matthew -- A book written by Jane Fallon, wife of Ricky Gervais, it follows a "hard-charging publicist whose lusty affair with a married man is ruined by his decision to leave his wife and two children for her. She invents a new persona, befriends the spurned wife, and attempts to patch up the marriage so she can be rid of him. In the process, she develops a thing for his oldest son."
The Divorce Party -- Based on a novel by Laura Dave, that will be published this May, the project will focus on a couple who celebrate their 35th wedding anniversary by having a party and announcing their divorce. "It creates complications for their son, who returns home with his commitment-shy fiancee." Gwyn Lurie will write the script.

Counter-Clockwise -- Coming from a script by Paul Bernbaum, this project is based on the true story of a study by a Harvard prof and psychologist to reverse aging by "re-creating the era of their prime."

Love:Todd -- This one won't have Aniston acting in it, but she will produce the drama about tennis coach, who used to be a pro, and "gets schooled by a precocious teen tennis phenom." Kristen Stavola wrote the script.

Chemistry -- A dramedy by David Sussman, the project focuses on "the fact that romantic love and obsessive compulsive disorder demonstrate similar brain chemistry."

The Goree Girls -- Read more about it here.
