Ask 'Baby Mama' Stars Tina Fey and Amy Poehler a Question
Filed under: Fandom, Interviews, Unscripted
Sound a little like ... Juno? Well, sort of, only sort of not, since Baby Mama was written and directed by veteran Saturday Night Live scribe Michael McCullers -- and, most importantly, stars former and current SNL regulars Tina Fey (as the career woman) and Amy Poehler (as the free-livin' surrogate). Expect more laughs, more physical comedy, less indie music -- and of course, a whole bushel of Fey and Poehler, two of the most gifted comic actors working today.
OK, so maybe the Juno reference was a stretch (it's Monday, cut me some slack). It's more like if Liz Lemon wanted to have a baby and hired ... well, any character Amy Poehler's ever played. It's Fey's first big-screen starring role, and we're eager to see what she does with it when Baby Mama opens on April 25.
Fey and Poehler have signed on to interview each other for Moviefone's Unscripted series, and we need your questions to make it happen. Please submit a question for either Tina Fey or Amy Poehler (or double your chances, and submit one for each!) by this Friday, April 11; then come back here on April 21 to see if your question made the cut. Don't forget to include your first name and the city and state where you live. Good luck.

Tina:
The mom to be in Baby Mama is very "type a". As a mom of a toddler (or is the adorable Alice considered a preschooler) in NYC, have you run into many moms like "Kate Holbrook" (or at least the mom she might have been had she never met "Angie")? I guess I should qualify that with the question, do you even have time for "Mom" friends?
Love you and love your work, keep up the great job.

I see you like TV streaming sites. Well just to let you know that there is a better site than this called www.viewmy.tv it streams live global TV to your computer but is free and has no downloads so it is faster and the quality is really good. I also have a profile on the site which enables me to save my channels so I don’t keep on having to search them, find other people who like the same stuff as me from all over the world and join groups, talk to friends etc. Check it out! They even have created loads of gadgets, widgets and apps so you don’t even have to go to site to watch their streams- its is great!

Michael McCullers was a first time director, although he has helped write blockbusters like Austin Powers and duds like Thunderbirds. How was working with him versus a more seasoned director? How did he convince you two to work with an untried director? Were you in good hands?

for tina: is there anything you would do differently with your life, or are you happy with how it turned out so far?
for both: would either of you put up with a surrogate like the one amy plays if you became "fertility-challenged"?
for both: how the hell did you get so freaking funny? and why did it take so long for someone to decide you two should be in a movie together?
p.s. i love PGignacio's questions. those should definitely be answered.

For both of you: Why are you so good looking?
For Tina: I hear your writing a new movie in which Sacha Baron Cohen will star, hows it coming along and please tell me your not only writing it but will be co-staring in it?
For Amy: What type of character do you enjoy playing more.. a more straight laced but still painfully funny character like Hillary or a crazy character like Amber or Angie?
Oh, I also think that you and Will should have a funny baby and then Alice and your kid can just hang out and be bad ass all the time ..
I love you both so much. You're such an inspiration.

Tina & Amy-
You worked together for many years at SNL. How was it different working together on a movie?
Tina-
What finally made you decide to get involved with a project you didn't write? Do you plan to do this more in the future?

Question for Amy:
You're a nice looking girl so I've always wondered why during the News segment on SNL you don't wear make-up and your hair looks like it hasn't been washed in a week and you combed it with a flat iron? Is this some kind of feminest-nazi statement you're trying to make or do you just run around looking like crap all the time? It's really hard to look at, you know, like my wife when she wakes up in the morning.....yeeccch!
