Another Pro-Uwe Boll Petition Surfaces Online
Filed under: Celebrities and Controversy, Fandom
Ooo-wee, that Uwe makes good copy. Happily, those who have responded to the petition to get Uwe Boll to step away from the camera now have more than one force of opposition: a second petition to keep Dr. Uwe in his current line of work. Cinematical's Erik Davis caught the beleaguered Boll's plea for support on April 9, and yet another fan has responded: Lauren Brenner of Greyface Media is the sponsor behind this noble petition: "after all, he's better than that hack Scorsese." Boll couldn't have said it better. (In case you were wondering, the first pro-Boll petition is here, and so far there are almost 4,000 signatures.)
Which side are you on: Pro Boll or anti Boll?

Here's the thing: Uwe Boll makes crappy movies but he's making movies. I bet half the people who signed that petition against him want to make movies. Who's the real hack? The guy who's making movies or the guy who wants to but doesn't do anything about it? That's why I think I'm pro-Uwe. He makes crappy movies but I'm not making any so he wins.

the problem is uwe boll is not producing original works. If he was, then all the power to him I say in making his crappy films. But right now hes tieing up the rights to make franchises people want to see and ruining them. Im a big farcry fan, and im really dissapointed to see him making farcry. At least if it was an original work I can just ignore it and not care. But now hes prevent others from actually making a good farcry movie.
you see why we are against him making films?

So someone who is horrible at doing something is still better than someone who isn't doing it? That is horribly disgusting logic, especially concerning film, which is an insanely hard career to get into to begin with. At least someone know they're bad...Uwe Boll is horribly deluded.

I personally think the guy is hilarious and a smart businessman. The film world would hurt if he were to stop making movies.

mike... I get your point. Totally. However, you should be more upset at the people who actually sell Boll the rights. They're the ones making the poor decision of putting the franchise in his hands.
section... I'm sorry you don't see my logic. But I think you prove my point. You point out that film is an "insanely hard career to get into to begin with." Kudos to him, then, for doing the hard work it takes to achieve that career. If someone is more talented but doesn't have the motivation or the perseverance to achieve that goal then they're just wasting their talent. And talent wasted is, in fact, horrible. I imagine you'd counter by saying that people like Uwe Boll "got lucky" where other more talented people tried just as hard but were "unlucky." Then we have to agree to disagree, because in my experience there's no such thing as luck!

"I'm the only genius in the whole f-ing business" I signed the anti-boll petition just because he said that, any person who can say that and actually believe it is a total lunatic.
