First 'Star Wars: The Clone Wars' Trailer!
Filed under: Action, Animation, Sci-Fi & Fantasy, Fandom, Movie Marketing, Remakes and Sequels, Trailers and Clips
This probably won't be around for too long, as we believe this trailer wasn't supposed to hit until early May. So, um, watch it. NOW! Above, you can see what appears to be the first trailer for the next saga in the Star Wars universe: Star Wars: The Clone Wars. Now the way this will work is a theatrical film will first arrive in theaters on August 15, then the television series will begin with episodes airing on Cartoon Network and TNT. Star Wars: The Clone Wars takes place between Episodes II and III, and features most of the main characters from the last trilogy: Anakin, Obi-Wan, R2D2, C3PO, Padme Amidala, Count Dooku and Palpatine, as well as some new ones.
Oh, and get ready to revisit with some old friends (or enemies), as this new trailer reveals a character we know from wayyy back in the day. I won't say who it is; I'll let you be surprised. So far I dig the way this looks -- should be a fun time with lots of action. What do you think?

Looks cool, but honestly, I'd like to see SOME new Star Wars content (i.e. after Episode VI) where we don't know how things end.
Wouldn't it be fun to see the adventures of Luke and Leia and Han rebuilding the Republic after defeating Emperor Palpatine (similar but not necessarilly to the Timothy Zahn novels).
Now that'd be cool. They could probably get Mark Hamill to voice Luke, too.

Like Star Trek, isn't it time to give the Star Wars franchise a break? This looks OK, but not as good as the previous Cartoon Network series.

The visuals look great and the most shocking thing is how it sounds like they got Sam Jackson to voice Windu again. If not, it's a friggin close match. But that's where my praise ends.
Yoda's dialog is completely wrong. They completely boned that one. And the plot. Holy Christ. The plot. Jabba the Hutt's son has been kidnapped?!? C'mon. This isn't the A-Team. That's a plot I would think up. But even I'm not dumb enough to think that Jabba would ever work with the Republic. Did these writers even see the other movies?!? Next they'll probably have Luke marry a bounty hunter.
Shoot me.

Glad to see the story line here will be just as meaningful and enjoyable as the prequels...

What makes this different from the previous Cartoon Network series? That one was all about the Clone Wars too. Admittedly, I never watched all of it, but is this basically a continuation of that?
In any case, the action sequences look pretty incredible.
