The first official poster for this summer's The Incredible Hulk has just arrived over at IGN (head over there for a larger version). As you can see from the image above, the Hulk is trying to capture Edward Norton using the muscles in his back. Personally, this is exactly what I imagined the poster to look like -- some sort of combo between the green monster and Bruce Banner, with a bunch of helicopters and tanks shooting in the background. I expect a few character posters (one with the Hulk, one with Abomination, etc) to follow in the coming weeks.
Despite its solid cast, The Incredible Hulk has enjoyed (or maybe not) its share of controversy since word of the film first hit the net. An obvious re-do (following Ang Lee's not-so-successful effort a few years back), rumors have spread about Norton's control-freak mentality; how Zak Penn was quietly replaced as writer and how studio folks have clashed with Norton over the final product. Me? I still think it looks pretty cool -- and dammit if Tim Roth doesn't rock out as the villain in this movie!
What do you think? Does The Incredible Hulk have the, er, strength to compete with this summer's other big whales?

So far, after watching trailers and reading blogs, I'm not bursting at the seams to go see this new version.
I will see it, of course, but I'll wait till the reviews are in before deciding on either waiting for the DVD or go to a theater to see it right away.
Something about what I've seen so far makes me think that it'll be a bit ho-hum. Ibased on what I've seen, I don't think it will do any better than Ang Lee's version.
That being said, I am one of the few that liked Ang Lee's version.

Ah, not the inspiring of posters. Regardless, I think it'll do pretty well. At least 90% of its audience has no idea that there was any controversy and I think that Edward Norton has enough of a draw to bring in the action movie goers as well as the rest of the curious public.

Honestly, I would be more excited about a Hulk remake if they laid off the CG Hulkification, and simply painted a big, strong man green (a modern day Lou Ferrigno). This film appears to be the same CG blockbuster that the first one tried to be. I'd prefer the low budget camp of the TV show. When I heard Norton was involved, I thought we were headed for something more naturalistic, but I guess not.

Norton's pose reminds me of Bill Bixby standing at his grave in the opening credits on the TV show...

I think it's more likely the pose of, "man, I haven't had a hit movie since Fight Club..."

Personally, I think it's wicked cool how tons of teeny tiny helecopters are shining their spotlights on Hulk's super exploding crotch while Bruce Banner looks down at his sadly inferior, non-glowing batch with big pouty lips. Awesome!!! Don't anyone ruin the ending of this movie for me please!

I really like the poster. Reminds me a lot of a cover from the comic. Infact I swear I've seen it before.
I Can't wait to see this movie. I have faith in Edward Norton. Plus it can't be any worst then Hulk.

The poster is alright. I'll see it. I liked Lee's version. I probably think this is good although I'd love to be surprised. I still woulda liked Steve Buscemi as Banner....heh heh. No really.
