New 'Indiana Jones' Images and the First Review Arrives Online?

Take from this what you will, but Jeff Wells over at Hollywood Elsewhere claims to have heard from a "guy who knows a guy on the Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull team" that Ferris passed out at 31 flavors last night. Okay, actually, this person claims to have watched a cut of the new film and Wells is flying with a bunch of quotes this morning that he's not "100% comfortable running," but knows they'll bring in about 100% more traffic for his site. Among the non-spoilerish highlights:
- Crystal Skull is "the best of the Indy sequels." "Steven Spielberg's helming puts the imitators (The Mummy, National Treasure) to shame. There are many breakneck set pieces, with a protracted jungle chase being particularly memorable. As well as being evocative of the truck chase from the first movie."
- Harrison Ford "gives his best performance in the role, not only physically belying his age but layering in welcome poignancy. More than before, audiences will be rooting for Indy."
- "The film has the strongest supporting cast of the sequels."
- Apparently, the film also includes an "ending that any longtime diehard fan of the films could only dream about."

Why is Katie Holmes sticking her finger in Indy's face? (Kidding -- though you gotta admit there's a resemblance!)

Call me cynical, but those comments bring to mind the "rave reviews" you see on the back of direct-to-video movies starring people like Dustin Diamond.

Personally I can't wait. I've avoided most of the spoilers and plan to see it exactly as Spielberg wants me to, with little to know information regarding the movie what-so-ever.
To me it doesn't matter if it's as good as the first 3 (although I hope it is) because it's a chance to go see a franchise with my dad that we watched together when I was a kid.

Glad to see someone is being positive about this. The orgy like hatefest that has been centering around this movie is getting tiresome... besides, I'm sure michael bay is lonely and wants his "fan club" back.

I was just thinking the same thing. Very bad lighting, if that's going to be the background. Yeesh.

I just wish MY father was alive to see this. I'm REALLY looking forward to this and I'm certainly disheartened but ultimately unsurprised at all the naysayers.

Personally I saw the film opening night and the ending totally killed the whole movie for me. It does not fit with the rest of the series. Of course everything else leading upto that point was great but the ending killed the movie. Personally I think that this is one of the worst of the series. I am extremly disapointed especially watching the first three just hours before I went to see this one.

I have just returned from the local "theatre". I am just shocked!!!! This movie is an overblown, poorly written, insult on the Indiana Jones francise. Everything looked like it was done on a stage, the CGI is laughable, I kept waiting for Kate Blanchette to say something like " No Mr. Bond, I expect you to die!" The movie was not even Remotley believeable, The dialog was forced, the action sequences made me angry. Should be called "Indiana Jones and the destruction of your childhood". It was'nt all that bad, Harrison was great, if not old and cranky and mostly looking like he wanted to go lay down badly. I love you Indy, But this is just a let down, all around. Stop screwing up your legacy Spielberg and Lucas!!! What has happened to you both...Go back to where you once belonged. Engaging our imaginations and Making Magic.
