Ask 'Pineapple Express' Stars Seth Rogen and James Franco a Question
Filed under: Fandom, Interviews, Unscripted
Just like in Freaks and Geeks, Rogen and James get high ... a lot. And get up to a whole bunch of no good. It's like the high school reunion we never saw! Aside from that, obviously, Rogen's stock has been on quite a run since F&G, with his breakout starring role in last year's hit comedy Knocked Up, around which were sandwiched scene-stealing roles in The 40-Year-Old Virgin and Superbad.
Franco's had success of a somewhat different sort -- his leading man roles haven't catapulted him to stardom, but he earned himself a nice chunk of change as Harry/New Goblin in the Spider-Man movies, so we're not feeling too sorry for him.
Before Pineapple Express hits theaters on August 8, Rogen and Franco will be sitting for Moviefone's Unscripted series to interview each other using your questions. Knock 'em on over here in the comments section, making sure to include your first name and the city where you live -- and the interview happens this weekend, so get those questions in by Friday, May 30.
Then mark your calendars and come back here on Monday, August 4, to see if your question got asked. Good luck. Dude.

Hey James, you remember when you were on Freaks and Geeks? That was cool. Seth was on there too. You remember that? You should make more 'funny or die dot com' skits. You remember those? Those are pretty great.

Seth:
How did Judd Apatow first discover you for '40 Year-Old Virgin'? How'd he think that you'd be a perfect leading man for 'Knocked Up', & how was it working with his wife & kids in the film?
James:
Since you simply stated in 'Knocked Up' that you never indeed read the Spiderman comics before getting the role of Harry Osbourne, what inspired to audition for such a film? fyi, your cameo in 'Knocked Up' was really good.

Seth, I work for a somewhat well known comedy website (doubleviking.com). A few weeks ago, a dude claiming to be you was emailing us asking for us to link to a bunch of videos as a "favor." We're all fans here (you won a few of our "Man of The Year" awards and our readers mock us for our man crush on you constantly), so at first we thought, what the hell.
Then "you" kept asking us to link to more and more videos. They decreased in quality and you were in none of em.
Just to be sure, that wasn't really you, right?
I know David Cross had an impersonator too... what's with these nut jobs impersonating comedians? Isn't that, like, missing the point?
How can we be sure an email from Seth Rogen really is an email from Seth Rogen.

James, since you're currently enrolled at the Columbia School of Arts for an MFA in Writing, does that mean you're taking a break from films? And what do you expect to gain from the program? (Also, see you there!)

Did you guys watch any pot related films or things that as mention pot, such as Pimp Chronicles by Katt Williams (please says yes), to get any inspiration or ideas for how to go about playing your characters?

James and Seth: Has there been any talk of a freaks and geeks reunion or movie?
Seth: Is it odd going from making children's movies like Horton Heres A Who to making profane movies with lots of drug references like say Pineapple Express
James: Do you prefer making serious movies like Milk or funny movies like Pineapple Express, both of which are highly anticipated by myself

Seth: Have any of you ever thought about going the sort of 'Frat Pack' way of movie making such as the random one-scene cameos in each other's films all the time?
Do you think you'll ever follow in the footsteps of most comedian and start doing more serious films or would you like to stick with just comedy?
What was your absolute favorite scene to film in 'Pineapple Express'? Which scene has the most improv?
James: I know you're about to attend graduate school for writing, what genre do you feel most passionate about? Comedy, drama, etc. And what made you want to pursue graduate studies?
Is there a certain role that you haven't played yet that you've thought about or always wanted to give a try? Like a serial killer/psychopath, a family man, a spy, etc etc.
Do you think you'll do more comedies after this? It's obvious that it's in your blood, your Funny or Die videos with Davy are absolutely hilarious.

Both: Do you guys bother with the internet and the various fansites out there specifically for you, or do you just see it as a big waste of time?
James: Why did you decide to pursue your studies once more?

Seth, loved you in Superbad. Did you really blaze in Knocked Up or what? Those bong rips out by the pool looked pretty realistic!
