Stars in Rewind: 'Girls Just Want to Have Fun'
Filed under: Comedy, New Releases, Fandom, Trailers and Clips, Stars in Rewind
I've just realized -- Sarah Jessica Parker being surrounded by (or wearing) atrocious clothing is nothing new. Does anyone remember Girls Just Want to Have Fun? I was always obsessed with Lynne's velcro and never thought about how SJP has been doing the terrible fashion trends for years. Her Janey Glen was fairly run-of-the-mill, but check out the clip above, which dips into just about every god-awful fashion nugget of the '80s.
Sex and the City opens this week, and in honor of the release, Moviefone has put up a Before They Had Sex for the cast, highlighting early roles for each one of the sexy stars. Of course, Sarah Jessica Parker got her dance on in this and Footloose, but the rest of the ladies had their share retro fare as well, from Kim Cattrall's infamous stint in Porky's, to Cynthia Nixon in Little Darlings, as I shared before. Some of them have come a long way, and some, well, they're staying true to form.
Care to list a favorite role ... or four?

Mildly attractive? Man, she isn't even on the same planet as attractive. She is the most butt ugly actress in Hollywood. Even Steve Buscemi looks better as a woman. Look in the dictionary under hideous- it reads: See Sarah Jessica Parker.

I first saw Sarah Jessica Parker in "Annie" on Broadway in the mid 1970's! She was talented then....and still is! She is also adorable.....and that makes her sexy.
Sorry Dan & Zandurian.....you obviously can't get a date, so you have to trash women. Or, probably in addition to the aforementioned, you are threatened by successful women.
Nothing to do but feel sorry for you!
Way to go, SJP! You got it goin' on! Continued successes to you!

Right on, Zandurian. And Kelly, no need for a personal attack ... no problems on this end with women , appreciating their beauty OR success, OR both.
Say ... Catherine Bell, Dana Delany, Joan Chen, Sandra Bullock, Lucy Liu, Tia Carere, Angelina Jolie, Halle Berry ... now you're talking .... but SJP ??? Glad you liked her as a child actress ... but in the class of the above ladies?
NAHHHHH !

I still say my favorite SJP role was Sarah in Hocus Pocus. That movie does not get all the attention it deserves.

Well I absolutelly loved the series 'sex and the city',but the movie mad me ill feated.
First off the gals made a rude comment to Samatha about weight(ya like 15lbs ohhh) she had because of her conflict of her boy friend Jared Smith. And then after Carrie(Sarah Jessica Parker)was still extreemly depressed about her jolted fiance' whom left her hanging and then decided to go for it(this was understanding why she was ticked off,but gezzzz after six months or so of stress and great depression you'd think she'd get over it by then.
That part hit me deeply in my heart also and soul. I was outraged when I came out of the movie theature.
I was waiting all year for a killer flick,it was a serious flop for me.
I have Bi-Polar type 2,depression,lost 2 daughters,a spine injury(can never lose weight, used to be a pro body builder, worst of all cannot ever wear high heel shoes ever again),blood clots, arthtis all through my body and so on.... I really have a valid reason to be depressed(not to mention friends and family not fully understanding me really),the weight gain(coming out of the theature with my boy friend made me feel fat and ugly when there were just dozens of gals who glanced at me like I was a haffer.I am not seeking pity, nor putting down any of the cast or crew members, just tellingthe truth about what I felt about the movie is all.
But other then that the series are great.
