Ask 'Incredible Hulk' Stars and Director a Question
Filed under: Fandom, Interviews, Unscripted, Summer Movies
In theaters June 13, this new Hulk movie sees Banner trying desperately to "cure" himself of the gamma radiation that unleashes the not-so-jolly green giant within, all the while struggling with his secret identity, dodging the industrial military complex, pining for his true love (Liv Tyler) and confronting a nasty enemy known as The Abomination (Tim Roth).
Who better to play such a multi-faceted Hulk than the versatile Norton, an actor who lives to play complex characters? How did he approach playing the role -- and what was his interpretation of the line "HULK SMASH!"?
You don't have to wonder -- you can ask him yourself. Edward Norton, Liv Tyler and director Louis Leterrier (known for the Transporter movies) have just agreed to huddle for Moviefone's Unscripted series, in which they'll interview each other using your questions.
You know what to do. Ask your question for any one of the three (or all three!) in the comments below, and be sure to include your first name and your city and state; then come back here on June 9 to see if your question got asked. The interview's happening on Monday, June 2 -- so submit by Monday morning, or else you'll make Hulk mad. And you wouldn't want to make him mad, would you?

To Edward Norton: What attracted you to a character like the Hulk and just the overall comic book genre?

How do all of you feel about Ang Lee's Hulk film. I know Mr. Leterrier said he likes it but do you like it as a standalone film or as a Hulk film? Also, what are Mr. Norton's thoughts on an Avengers film and of the recent Ironman film?

to Ed Norton,
As an actor do you prepare differently for a "comic book" character than you would for a more "serious" movie. Do you approach the character in a less serious manner than say you did the character in "The Painted Veil" which I thought you were great in.

How much pressure is on you with the success of Iron Man and Marvel Studios riding on both movies?
Also how hard was it to combine both elements of the comic book and the classic tv series without repeating the mistakes of the Ang Lee Hulk?

I want at least one "HULK SMASH!" or it isn't the Hulk to me. "Puny Human" wouldn't hurt either. or "Hulk hate puny Banner"

Why does the abomination not look like what he was from the comics?

I read somthing about how the director didnt think it made much sense that the abomination looked like a reptile, im not sure why, so he made him look different.
and i like them keeping things the same from the comics, but the abomination looks awesome in this, and they're already doing a good job at keeping close to the comics.

DOES THIS FILM HAVE ANY CONNECTIONS TO THE FIRST HULK FILM OR IS IT A COMPLETE REVAMP?

I think i started out as a remake, but then it was like a remake and a sequal, and now im pretty sure its pretty much just a remake but it still sort of starts where they left off in the first film with banner hiding. They'll probobly like explain or have flashbacks of how he got to be the hulk so that it was just like the style of the film to start off sort of in the middle and explain why hes hiding and why the government is after him throughout the film, or the beginning of the film atleast.

A question to either of the stars as well as Louis: Despite the terribly overblown and most likely over exaggerated conflict between parties on the issue of a run time, how well has the film come together in your opinion with a more reduced run time?
Many fans are, of course, concerned whenever a movie is cut down that it may turn into a "chop shop" situation in which the film no longer is as well paced as it used to be, or lacking in crucial character development.
If you could address how you believe the film has come together as compared to the previous version for us, I'd love to hear it.
Wish you all the best of luck with this film, it's absolutely my most anticipated film of '08!

To Edward Norton: We know how Bill Bixby's Banner was a reference point for this film. How did his performances aid you in portraying and delivering the right kind of Banner? and do we here the immortal line "don't make me angry, you wouldn't like me when I'm angry".
