EXCLUSIVE: 'Disaster Movie' Poster Premiere!
Filed under: Comedy, Lionsgate Films, Fandom, Movie Marketing, Posters

Cinematical has just received this exclusive poster for the new spoof flick Disaster Movie (click image above to enlarge), which hits theaters later this summer and comes to us from the warped minds of Jason Friedberg and Aaron Seltzer (Meet the Spartans, Epic Movie, Date Movie). It shouldn't be too hard to figure out where this one is heading; based on the poster and title, it looks like Disaster Movie will spoof films like The Day After Tomorrow and other similar, end-of-days Hollywood blockbusters. (Just the fact that Al Gore gets a mention on the poster probably means the boys are gonna have a little fun with him, too). Spoof regular Carmen Electra stars, alongside Kimberly Kardashian, Matt Lanter and Vanessa Minnillo.
Disaster Movie explodes onto movie screens everywhere this August 29.

Oh I heard all about this movie! Friedberg and Seltzer have some seriously disturbed minds, and they are hilarious to boot! I can't even fathom how they incorporate Al Gore into this film... but I'm sure it's a gas!Looks like they put together another attractive cast... the poster is an eye-catcher... the idea of Lady Liberty snorkeling... hilarious! Looks like a hit!

Is this sarcasm or has the movie's PR department started commenting on Cinematical?

From the warped minds that thought that Epic Movie and Date Movie were actually funny and could be considered "movies" comes "Another-Piece-of-Trash-I-Won't-Be-Seeing Movie"

No, those guys are hacks. They suck. They suck at hacking. And was this entry written by a PR person? And a couple replies here reek of studio trolls. Boo this movie. Boo it long, boo it hard.

This looks awesome! Like, presidential awesome! Man, just the text alone on this poster is HI-larious! Al Gore was right! Not another shallow Hollywood movie! HAHAHAHA!!!
If the movie is even HALF as funny as this poster, then it will still contain ZERO funny! Man is this going to suck.

These movies are usually a lot of silly fun. The poster definitely gives off that vibe, and i really like the tagline.

Three positive comments here:
2 from first time posters, 1 from a guy that has only commented here and on the Good Luck Chuck poster (which he also called 'a lot of fun.')
Either someone let the post-op lobotomy patients near the computers, or we've got a PR firm half-assedly working here. Like alliwantforxmasismypsp.

This is really sad because if this movie were in the hands of someone that was actually competent, it would have quite a bit of potential. However, since it is in the hands of guys who think that just mentioning Paris Hilton or Britney Spears is hilarious, it has no shot whatsoever of being funny

Oh yea, and MosquitoControl, I don't know if you saw Good Luck Chuck, but I did, and it was perhaps the worst movie of last year (luckily, it was free). So I agree with you, I don't take the opinion of the guy that posted positively about this movie seriously.

You thought that was the worst movie last year?
Apparently, they did "Epic Movie" last year. I think they're going for the worst movie ever.

Okay, I have no doubt that movie will be terrible, but....
I love that poster, truly. Something about the thought of the Statue of Liberty with a snorkel made me laugh out loud.

The fact that Lionsgate is releasing it during the annual "Labor Day Dump" (and will likely decline screening it in advance) should indicate their degree of confidence in it.
