Discuss: 'Transformers' Wins Top Honors at 2008 MTV Movie Awards

"The second one's gonna be f**kin' badass!"-- Megan Fox on Transformers 2
The 2008 MTV Movie Awards are in the books and Transformers came out on top with the best movie award, with director Michael Bay and an unbelievably hot (seriously -- no one should be that good looking) Megan Fox accepting the honors. Bay, who was sitting next to his own Fox all night, looked happy up there at the podium -- and if it was possible to make love to yourself on live television, we probably would've seen something nasty.
Highlights for me this year include a very funny Wayne's World reunion, in which the boys counted down the top ten porn names for 2008 films (even though half the flicks mentioned came out in 2007). Ben Stiller, Jack Black and Robert Downey Jr. cracked me up big time with their Tropic Thunder viral video bit, which concluded with them blowing up Black's head in order to impress Stiller's overweight, internet nerdy nephew. (Loved the line about Iron Man: "It'll do till The Dark Knight gets here." Classic!)
Myers was a decent host; liked the animal trainer bit; was iffy on the craft services chick. How odd was that gum commercial/sketch with the award rolling around in the bathroom? Thought the Sandler tribute was cute, though most of the intro jokes fell flat. (I love Seth Rogen and James Franco, but that pot bit tanked hard. Did you see the uncomfortable looks from the audience? And what was up with the wide shot for the entire bit, this way no one at home could actually see what was happening on stage?) Oh, and I will admit -- the kiss from Step Up 2 the Streets was kinda hot. Step Up 3 Way ... anyone? J/K!!
Favorite moments from this year's show? Did you watch it? Do you care?
WAIT! One more thing: How 21 Jump Street did Johnny Depp look tonight???? Holy crap, dude looked 17.
Hang on! Check out a gallery from the show below ...

I didn't watch it, but considering Transformers won, I'm sure I didn't miss much.
I'd like to check out those star-made videos, though.

Loved the tropic thunder viral, and the Wayne's World reunion was sweet, I'm not worthy, I'm not worthy. The rest was kind of cool, but it could have been better.

I am just going to mention some things:
BEST Acception Speech: Zac Efron. I am not a fan of his at all but I greatly enjoyed him in “Hairspray” and the way he did his acception speech was classy!
Johnny Depp: He was cool I guess...until he reached the podium and had to talk lol
HIGHLIGHT: Robert Downey Jr. !!! Pretty much everything he said and did!
Especially COOL was the part at the end when Jack Black did his "Special Introduction," then the curtains went up and he had his big Entrance...he is THE MAN!! xD

I've never taken the MTV Movie Awards seriously, but watching this year's show made me feel like I'd missed something. It's never made a point of rewarding quality work, but it at least recognized films that were entertaining or that people had at least, you know, seen.
Instead, you end up with teenage girls rewarding Step Up 2: The Streets and Never Back Down. I'd like to think that in my day Superbad and Bourne would have dominated the show.

Its a sad state when the Movie Awards are more intresting then the Music Video Awards. Yet that's what they've been for a good decade now. That includes the musical performances. Coldplay were good. I couldn't care less about any of the awards. Not because I don't like any of the movies, just think that whatever wins doesn't validate whether the movie was actually any good or not.

I saw the jabbawockees on the (gold?) carpet, and I expected something amazing out of them... and what we got was 20 seconds of them reacting to the pussycat dolls... what a rip

I didn't watch the whole thing but I did catch Johnny Depp winning the award. He looks so awesome. I can't believe that guy is over forty. Him and Tom Cruise don't age a bit.
