Well, it would be better than the "Buffalo Soldiers" (the name of the football field at West Point Military Academy, once buzzed by two Navy F-14s in a snow squall [1992?]) used in the early twentieth century experiment (the camels got away) in bicycle mounted troops across the land (early "mountain: bikes?) or some of the racist actions that occured in the segregated services. My Dad served in Italy was a white "Black Panther" but his brother with polio perished in a wheelchair in the elevator shaft in NYC "Hall of Records" (represented by Basil O'Connor) and my father missed his overseas ship, instead landed later in Italy. Their sister's husband had been a law clerk for FDR. There's still no monument to FDR in NYC.

I really like this poster. It looks like something Criterion would do for a release. It's quite subtle and sells the movie more then the actor.

White denial of black folks contributions to fighting in their wars is the supreme sign of ungratefulness and wickedness. That's why black people are wiser now and are not joining the military like we used to. I'm am a former Marine Corps Infantryman and did'nt find out that The US excluded blacks from the Marines until 1942 a week before I went to boot camp. But of course someone will respond with some smart ass remark and accuse black folks of the racism this country is legion for. No wonder nobody likes Europe nor America across the globe. White male entitlement makes you look like buffoons before the rest of the world. The rest of the world including thoughtful whites can't wait for Spike's movie to be released. Spike Lee would have been delayed in Hollywood if he went through that mad house there.

I've disagreed with Spike lee on plenty of issues sir but I won't tell you!! First off I'm a member of the Nation of Islam under the leadership of the Honorable minister Louis Farrakhan!! It is men like yourself that make it difficult for well meaning whites to stand for truth!! And you sir responded like the true devil that you are! Did you know that the Germans had a great deal of respect for the combat prowess of black soldiers? Did you know that the Italians preferred letting black soldiers in their homes than white soldiers because of the nastiness of the latter? No sir, I'm no victim!! Wow Gerald. Your comments up to now had been very thoughtful and erudite. But it did not take long for your true colors (pun intended) to show and for you to go completely bat shit.

If you believe even half of what you say then it is the people of your ilk that are the problem not us well meaning white beasts. Just a couple of observations here.
Any religion/ethos/system of beliefs that consider whites (or any race) the devil is in itself inherently racist and thus all your points no matter how valid become suspect.
Next if the obedient soldiers of allah are the tornadoes and rain and other elements, you may want to pray that those soldiers are a little more selective because it seems they have done a number on your people the last few years as well.

Don't bother "sciencing the truth" to me. I see exactly where you're coming from. Enjoy your Spike Lee film, I'm sure it will do your heart good.

I'm sorry to read where this thread has led due to my original statement. I'm known as a funny guy. My statement was said in jest and a direct response to a post last week on this website about Lee questioning why Eastwood had not included black men in the film "Flags of Our Fathers." It's truly sad how America has evolved into a country farther from its original ideal. Freedom of Speech comes to us because of so many who have died for our country: white, black, and American Japanese during WW 2 just to name a few. My comment was satirical, and if there are people so filled with hate that can't see it that way, then that is there problem.

Wow! It's funny how peple never see the truth and what the other is really saying. Then things get blurred and seem like the other doesn't make sense anymore.

I think Spike is using it to market his movie, otherwise he would never bring it public at this point instead of when the movies were released. At the same time I agree that their could have been blacks in Eastwood's movies, I mean DAMN! How could you not have at least one....just one! I'm still gonna catch these two filmakers' future projects cuz they both awesome to me.

Calling Malren a devil is'nt a racist statement. If that was the case I would call Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) a devil and he was a caucasian. We are speaking of the nature in which the caucasian was made. Truth is truth and we are the your mothers and fathers and science backs it up!! That's not hate but truth. Malren attacked Spike Lee because of his comments about Clint Eastwood. I responded with hard truth! Also, many whites have this notion that all blacks did in that war was serve white officers and drive trucks. That's true as well but it's also true that blacks saw extensive combat in all theatres. For example, the USS Mason was a destroyer escort manned by black sailors (white CO though). My father served with the 761st Tank Battalion. Check this out the 93rd Infantry Division(colored) served in the Pacific and the China/Burma Theater. Did you know that a black artillery unit gave fire support to the 101st Airborne Division during the siege of Bastogne during the Battle of the Bulge? Aside from the fact the fact the 101st was'nt the only division defending Bastogne(17th Airborne and 82nd Airborne and other units). Check out our participation in World War 2. Remember, it was'nt blacks that promoted the segregation polocies of that day. May I suggest a book called the Invisible Soldier. This book compiled in the early 1970s is an anthology of black participation in World War II. No sir, biting truth is needed to humble the unrighteous! Thank you and please respond.
