EXCLUSIVE: Tyler Perry's 'The Family That Preys' Poster Premiere!

Cinematical has just received this exclusive teaser poster for Tyler Perry's The Family That Preys (click image to enlarge), starring Alfre Woodard and Kathy Bates as the matriarchs of two very different families being torn apart by greed and scandal. This marks the sixth feature from Perry, whose films usually tackle the inner workings of a dysfunctional family. Written and directed by Perry, The Family That Preys also stars Perry, Rockmond Dunbar, Sanaa Lathan, KaDee Strickland, Cole Hauser and Taraji P. Henson. I'm digging what I see from this poster; the art sorta plays tricks with your head if you stare at it long enough -- and I imagine that's the point as it feeds into the themes found throughout the film.
The Family That Preys hits theaters on September 12.

huh? Come ON, be real, racism? Or is it a different form of art? Whew Lordy, and I thought Wesley snipes was cuckoo for coco- puffs, but I see you and your two buddies who responded to your comments below take the cake! Spare me the idiocy! Your comments are unfair and aloof! I responded to your comments, Gorman, and McCurdy comments in further depth……..I think it would safe for me to say at this point.... Please in the near future try to Use your head instead your mouth…it will save you the embarrassment later.

LOL @ MosquitoControl
I totally thought the same thing.
Do we need another amateur flick from Tyler Perry? He's the only filmmaker who is incapable of improving his craft (IMO). Even Uwe Bolle finally became self aware and made his films so bad their good enough to enjoy like an Ed Wood film.
I'd rather pass a kidney stone than watch another Tyler Perry movie.

You sound just like an ecotistic old man that is jealous of a wonderful Christian Black man that is devoted to God and to his culture, not only his own but many other cutltures. I don't know if your old but you sure sound it.
May God forgive me but you have a lot of nerve and no moral. Success must be an offense to you cause you never had it.
Get yourself a life and by the way, pass your kidney stone, on me!!! LOL!

Perry's movies always have great teaser posters, followed by a terrible poster, followed by an average movie. I guess it won't be any different this time around.
@ MosquitoControl: How the hell did no one at Lionsgate notice that?

I LOVE Tyler Perry movies. There are lifes lessions in each film that would just make the world better if people would just get the message. And, they are NOT like the garbage Hollywood throws out, just how many Batman movies does a person need. Mr. Perry makes you look deep into yourself.

WOW, Ignorance is truly a bliss. The first three idiots, oh pardon me, I mean persons who responded, have an intelligence level of a pot plant.
The Film poster ( The Family that Preys) does not represent racism ( ummm, hello Mosquito Control, Gorman, and McCurdy...better known as the three blind and dumb as hell mice)
The Film Poster represent an art called optical illusion (also called a visual illusion) this form of art is characterized by visually perceived images that differ from objective reality. The information gathered by the eye is processed by the brain to give a percept that does not tally with a physical measurement of the stimulus source. There are three main types of illusion - literal optical illusions that create images that are different from the objects that make them, physiological illusions that are the effects on the eyes and brain of excessive stimulation of a specific type - brightness, tilt, color, movement, and cognitive illusions where the eye and brain make unconscious inferences
The Film Poster is also a model example and image of Perceptual organization. With this said, if you would go back and read the plot of the film, this type of film poster is ONLY fitting. This poster with out saying alot words underlines the theme, the characters throughout the film.
MY GOSH, you know there is no reason for folks to be stupid! NONE what so ever! Whether you like Tyler Perry’s films or not is a person’s opinion and constitutional right. ( which I can't really comprehend why people would even waste energy responding to someone they dislike, their methods, their style, their endeavors, something they don't like to watch, or really don’t understand his audience.. That’s crazy, just don’t watch it) However, when you make unfair remarks like Mosquito Control, it underlines the clear division in this country, when it comes to culture and race. Buy Hey, I don’t even know why I’m frustrated or surprised; because with a name like “Mosquito Control”, you know this person has flew over the cuckoo’s nest, So I guess I need to cut them some slack, right….. ????) But dang, PICK UP A BOOK and READ……. reading is fundamental!
I appreciate the business sharpness of Tyler and his faithfulness to his core audience, an audience, who puts their money where and what their “eyes” want to see. His audience has made a profound statement in Hollywood (in dollars and cents, because you know the only thing that move mountains in Hollywood is “GREEN”) that they ONLY want to see family oriented genre films like his or similar plots on the big screen. So much to the point, Hollywood film studios are left scrambling, trying to figure out how they can make a multi-billion dollar industry targeting ONLY religious audiences and films. When you really think about this with a marketing and business mind set, I would say Perry has his audience eating out of the palm of his hand. Dang, that’s what I call good old school, vintage marketing and business wit, and that’s all that really matters. Because clearly you all’s ( meaning the haters, the wolves, the shrewd, the dumb elite who drinks tea with their pinky up in the air, proving to be such tight asses) cold and indifferent ten dollars at the movie theaters is not hurting his bank account one way or the other.
So please, spare us, you are trying way to hard to be dumb!
LOL. I am sorry, I have to laugh at people who make a fool of themselves, especially in public or in this case a public message board, but yet leave it up to them, they think they are so intelligent! Ah, the things that make the world go round…Lordy Mercy!
LOL!

I agree with the ones who are on Tyler's side. I love his films they are awesome. He is so intelligent and his films prove it. His films have a wholesome value and they are down to earth. I think he should make a million more movies. I certainly would be one of his consumers.

Really looking forward to Tyler Perry's latest film The Family That Preys, which opens in theaters today. I was just browsing eBay this afternoon and saw that Lionsgate is auctioning off 5 exclusive signed posters for the film to benefit The Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation. Sounds pretty cool! Here's a link to one of the auctions that I thought I would pass along:
