Cinematical is stoked to bring you this exclusive new poster for In Search of a Midnight Kiss (click image to enlarge), which I've heard is just absolutely awesome. Seriously, my best friend caught this flick back when it first premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival in 2007 and he hasn't stopped talking about it since. I swear, he's a nut -- completely and utterly in love with this film. And I think it's totally rad. Written and directed by the very cool and extremely talented Alex Holdridge, Midnight Kiss tells of Wilson, who, considering he'll be broke and alone on New Year's Eve, is convinced by his best friend to post a personal ad. Through that he meets Sara, who's hell bent on finding the right guy to be with at midnight.
We talk up a lot here on Cinematical, but I have such good vibes about this one. Watch it. Support it. Then watch it again. Oh, and here's the trailer. In Search of a Midnight Kiss hits theaters in limited release on August 1.

I saw this last weekend. not bad. before sunrise-lite. the best thing about it was the way they used downtown los angeles which is so rarely used. it felt a little like NYC the way it was shot and the locations they used. a lot of the plot twists you can see coming from a mile away but even that didn't make it horrible. amiable little movie.

If it's anything remotely as good as before sunrise, I'm already in love. Hope it gets a Boston screening.

My friend told me about this film and how tho there is much hype the numbers are very soft. Maybe it will do better in the states.

I saw this movie at the Chicago Film Festival and loved it. The cinematography makes the movie worth watching alone. They turn downtown LA into a dreamlike world similar to Woody Allen's Manhattan (greatly romanticized (and no I am not comparing this movie to Manhattan)). The story is interesting and quirky, and while the supporting cast is mixed, the leads give wonderful performances.
Simply put, go see this movie; enjoy something different and support indie films. This movie won't disappoint.

I saw this movie at the Chicago Film Fest too. What a coincidence, H. But, I must beg the differ about the acting. Ms. Loung and Mr. McNairy did fine jobs, but the rest of the cast was simply not very believable. The lead, Sarah Simmonds was not at all striking in her less then impressive "Vivian," and the fact that she is wearing fur in L.A. while there are elderly people in t-shirts is silly. Also, the fact that she is drinking and smoking during pregnancy is not a good example for youngsters. I felt downright jilted and wished I had not spent my time or money on such an unoriginal joke.
