Cast Coming Together for 'Beer in Hell' Adaptation
What do you get when you mix a dude who dined and dated Rory Gilmore (and tricked Logan Echolls), with another who once hacked the planet, and another who got holy with 7th Heaven? You get carnal, beer-drinking hell. The Hollywood Reporter posts that Matt Czuchry, Jesse Bradford, and Geoff Stults have signed onto Bob Gosse's adaptation of Tucker Max's I Hope They Serve Beer in Hell. Like earlier this year, when I spoke of the original deal, I can't do better than the intro to describe this flick: "My name is Tucker Max, and I am an a**hole. I get excessively drunk at inappropriate times, disregard social norms, indulge every whim, ignore the consequences of my actions, mock idiots and posers, sleep with more women than is safe or reasonable, and just generally act like a raging dickhead. But, I do contribute to humanity in one very important way: I share my adventures with the world."
In this particular story, he goes to a bachelor party, threatens the wedding, and gets banned from the nuptials. Czuchry gets the jerky honor of playing Tucker Max, while the other two actors play his best friends. Also added is some female flavor with Keri Lynn Pratt and Denise Quinones.
The flick begins shooting later this month in Louisiana. Are you ready for jerky hell?

I just recently discovered this Tucker Max guy, and sure his picture is in the dictionary next to douchebag, but damn, can this guy write. He's quite funny. Whether or not his stories are true is pretty much irrelevant because he's a great storyteller either way. Be sure to check out his website tuckermax.com. I recommend reading "Tucker tries buttsex; hilarity does not ensure".
It is, ironically, hilarious.

I've read him, too, and I foresee a real gelding of his work here.

I read the Tucker Max screenplay, and found it weak in humor and structure. Tucker Max disappeared almost two years ago, amidst being called out for fabricating his supposedly true stories. He was even labeled a "James Frey" to his face during one national radio interview (you can find the youtube interview). What made the interview humorous was Tucker Max's inability to make a witty comeback. For all the "scathing" remarks that Tucker claims he makes in his short stories, he stutters and gets flustered rather easily in real life.

Like all mindless Opie and Anthony fans, it's always a pissing contest with you isn't it Frank. Do you find his stories funny, witty or don't you, I'm not quite clear on that. Since you seemed surprised that he wasn't "witty" (like you believe he is in his stories?) when he was blindsided with insults by a radio host he thought admired his work. Some people are just jealous. Thats all it is and that describes you to the T.
