Monday Morning Poll: Your Favorite Batman?

Finally. After God knows how many trailers, TV spots, viral sites, movie posters, merchandise, fan art, contests, Batman Anonymous meetings ("Hi, my name is Earth ... and I'm addicted to Batman), and an assortment of tomfoolery, The Dark Knight will officially arrive in theaters this Friday. And I've heard shows are already sold out through March 2011. Right on! That said, this might be the week you want to reflect back and read your favorite Batman comics, watch your favorite Batman movies, or spend some alone time with your favorite Batman.
Which brings us to this week's super awesome Monday Morning Poll: Who is your favorite Batman? For this we're sticking solely to folks who've played the Caped Crusader on the big screen. Since a lot of Bat-fans have come to adore Kevin Conroy's voice performance, we'll include both live action and animated versions. For me, it's a toss up between Christian Bale and Michael Keaton. Bale has the looks and the charm, but Keaton had that "insanity factor" -- one look in his eyes and you knew this guy had a few screws loose. Tough choice. Where do you stand?

Obviously Christian Bale is the best Batman of the bunch. He's got Bruce Wayne down pat and also the darkness of Batman. But two things, his Bruce Wayne can come off a little meh...and I can't vote against Michael Keaton. I grew up with him and although he backed out of Lost because he didn't want the commitment of a series television, he was genius to say no to Joel Schumacher's abortions.

What has Batman got over other super heroes? Brains and grit. (And toys.) Kevin Conroy always came off as the toughest, most clever Batman.

I picked Keaton because he's MY favorite Batman, but I do concede that Bale is the BEST Batman.

Totally agree. Michael rescued the caped crusader from the joke Adam West had made of it.
He will always be my favorite

I think Bale is the best live action Batman, but I voted for Conroy. People are sleeping on Kevin Conroy. I grew up watching Batman on fox during my middle school years. It would make my day if there was a "Kevin Conroy soundtrack" audio option for DVD copies of Batman Begins and TDK.

Ah man...you put Kevin Conroy on this list?? Dang...you can't dispute with the "voice" of Batman. He is Bruce Wayne/Batman...hands down.
Now if we are just going for Live Action Batman...I'm thrown up between Christian Bale and Michael Keaton.
Thankfully, I don't have to choose b/t the two of them in this poll, since Conroy reigns supreme.

honestly theyve been playing batmans for like the last 2 weeks on the weekends. ALL OF THEM for better or worse.
michael keaton and christian bale were both awesome batmans. but both are terrible bruce waynes. neither of them packs the beef u would expect from a batman and neither of them are the suave good looking billionaire. george clooney would fit the best bruce wayne.
nevertheless i wanna buy the dark knight NOW. how long until that BLU-RAY release (yes i am an early adopter )

"george clooney would fit the best bruce wayne."
That's because Bruce is supposed to play up the rich, brainless playboy as a front to the public. Which is pretty much all George Clooney really is. He didn't do much acting there.

From what he wrote on Good Night and Good Luck and hearing him speak on politics, I think he's got a fairly good head on his shoulders.

Bale has that duality about his persona that fits Batman so well, he is a huge star but he seems to be bothered by it on interviews, that is how Bruce Wayne would act if he were real. NO contest, he is the best so far.

Bale is the best Live-Action Bats, but Kevin Conroy is and always will be the best Batman. I don't think I can even read a Batman comic without hearing his voice.

I had high hopes for Clooney. Keaton had the wry delivery, Kilmer had the looks, and I thought Clooney was the perfect combination of the two. Even today, Clooney takes the fall for "killing" Batman, but there was so much to hate about that film. Anyway, I vote for Bale.

George Clooney was great at playing the public persona of Bruce Wayne. The problem was that he played that same role in all the scenes.
He was basically playing Tony Stark. Nothing against Iron Man, but I think we can all agree that they're not the same character.

Adam West didn't need the body armour and fancy special effects of the modern-day Batmen. Nope, you got 100% pure West. Have any other of the Batmen gone on to become mayor of a small Rhode Island town? I think not.
I think I lean towards Keaton because he was so much better than anyone expected. His Bruce Wayne was a bit weak, but the Batman was great. I haven't watched enough of the animated Batman to voice on Conroy, but what I have seen has been solid.

Adam west had all the charisma the dark knight will ever need, it was tough for audiences to fully understand his batman because there were so many colors to his personality. The best batman ever, hands down.
