New 'Twilight' Trailer!
Filed under: Drama, Sci-Fi & Fantasy, Fandom, Movie Marketing, Trailers and Clips
It's absolute trailer madness today! Not long after the very awesome Watchmen trailer premiered, Yahoo Movies! has thrown up a brand new Twilight trailer for you folks to feast on. Twilight, of course, is based on the super popular series of books that have teenagers everywhere reaching levels of mass hysteria. Me? I'm just stoked that vampires are cool again. In the film, which is directed by Catherine Hardwicke, Kristen Stewart stars as a teenage girl who moves to a small town, meets a boy and -- whoops -- discovers he's a vampire. I haven't read the book, but I imagine things then take a hairy (or is it toothy?) turn for the worse. Check out the trailer above and let us know what you think.
How well do you think Twilight will do when it arrives in theaters on December 12?

It's a bit... teeny (obviously) and that alone puts me off. Well, that and the jumping through trees...
...yeah, and that.

Not bad. Better than the "Penelope" exclusive preview. Some of the characters do not look like how I imagined them in the book. Especially Charlie...
I think the movie will obviously do amazing at box office. It has a much bigger fan base (I think) than The Golden Compass and Spiderwick Chronicles. And it looks like they might dial the love story back a bit and bring in more vampire action - so that will draw in more people.

This was the worst book I've ever read by an awful author, and this film looks terrible as well.

Yeah, this will make some money due to the popularity of the source material, but...
...it's from Catherine Hardwicke, the Peter Berg of women directors. Lots of wobbly handheld and no real sense for visual storytelling or tone.
I foresee a sizable first weekend, lousy reviews, then direct-to-dvd sequel(s).

This book was soooo boring... the action comes at the end of the book and, as far as I have seen in trailers, they have adapted the end of the book.. or they're showing us the best part, the end of the film :D

If you didn't like the book what are you doing watching the trailer?

Given the fact that Catherine Hardwicke had NO idea how huge this movie was going to be before she signed the contract and given that their budget was only around 35 million, they are doing the best they can with what they had to work with and I guaranty that despite all of your awful comments this movie WILL break some records when it comes out, and who CARES if they don't get awesome reviews, because they will have made a TON of money for the movie and therefore WILL make another movie, and it WILL be even better than the first. And I think the book was AWESOME!

The second trailer looks pretty good to me. If I had never read the books, I would still be interested in watching it. But then again, I'm a sucker for fantasy/monster/action/romance movies.
I refuse to say anything negative about it until after I've seen it. And even then, I'm pretty biased so I'm sure I'll love it.

Honestly, unless you have read the book, you have no room to be talking. The series is amazing and has enough fans that it will do great once it hits theaters. Those of you that dont like it, dont watch. Keeping in mind that it wasnt even written to be published, but STILL did this good...

Read the book, it was good, but the movie won't be that great. The Edward is terrible, too old and not as I pictured him, and the Bella can't act. It'll do well the first weekend from all the teens who have read the book, after that not so much.

This movie will lift all the dropped-to-the-floor jaws of the hysteric fans out there to the point where they'll find themselves floating amid the sky, still head over heels crazy about it. In other words? I bet this is going to be a phenomenon.
I may be biased since I have read the books, (up to new moon; currently on eclipse and soon, breaking dawn.) But nonetheless, I think it's gonna be major smash teen movie. Who thinks otherwise does NOT do, at all, even in the slightest bit, justice to it.
Come 9th of January (well, I'd have to wait that long since it won't be shown until then here in Aust.) and I'm pretty sure all of those anti-twilighters out there will be refuted full on hard in the face.
Talk about insanity! Hahaha.
Definitely can never wait for the movie. Also, I would be expecting hyperventilations intermittently while watching it.
The books are incredible.
Still incredulous, scoffing at it? ;) Little piece of advice - avert your eyes if you see gizillions of ubiquitous posters and ads of it . But you should still try and consider watching it. =) You never know...

Oh and, Robert and Kristen, you say, not suit Edward and Bella? Well I think the opposite. I say they will definitely pull their roles off. As I've read in one article, the director, Catherine Hardwicke saw perfect chemistry between them.
Okay enough of my talking, let's all just wait for it to come out. *sigh*
Sorry for the rambling rants... I'm sure avid twilighters out there empathize with me...
*drools&dribbles* xD

Okay you negative commenters. Seriously. You obviously have no idea how huge Stephanie Meyer's books have been. Well they are a smashing hit and a start to a great career for her. This coming movie has her fan's jumping up and down. Of course its never possible to match actors to the characters that every reader has in their imagination, but it IS possible to match all the actors to each other. Which I think is exactly what they have done perfectly. Sure this movie may get a little cheesy, but I have no doubt of its success.
