Stars in Rewind: Christian Bale Sings and Dances!

Because why the hell not?
With Christian Bale currently in theaters kicking ass right, left and sideways as Batman, we thought it'd be fun to take a look back at the Dark Knight when he was just a wee boy. In the clip above, watch as Bale sings and dances up a storm in the film Newsies as Jack "Cowboy" Kelly. Remember that one? It came out in 1992 (though it was set in 1899) and it followed Kelly as he organizes a newsboys' strike due to the raising of the distribution price per paper by the publisher, Joseph Pulitzer. These kids were pissed, poor and ready to put on their dancing shoes -- and who could blame them. In all seriousness, though, this was a fun little flick ... and the music wasn't even half bad.
What do you think? Should Bale take this Batman act to Broadway?

OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I absolutely love that movie. My friends and I are obsessed! It is totally the best!!!! If you are asking if Newsies shuld be put on Broadway then i say YES YES YES YES YES YES YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I would pay top dollar if i had to, to see that! If you are asking if Batman should be put on Broadway, then I'd say maybe, because while it would most likely be good, it would take away from the film. If you are asking if Bale should go on Broadway then I'd say no (unless it was to play Cowboy Jack Kelly!), because he is more of a film actor than a broadway actor.

Apparently, he was asked in an interview what he thought about Newsies being such a box-office flop, to which he replied something to the extent of, if you start insulting Newsies, you're going to piss off a lot of people. Couldn't agree more.

I am under the "friedns are obsessed" part of Lizabel's comment, but just to add, we are totally obsessed! Though Mush is my favorite charicter, Jackie-Boy (Christian Bale) totally rocks in this film! To bad he said he would never do another musical in his life afterward. People should also check out Little Woman, he was pretty young in that movie too, sorry no singing though. And he was in Henvry the V, but that was when he was really really little. Point being, Christian Bale is awesome (especally in Newsies)!
