'The Boondock Saints' Sequel Actually Happening?

There has been talk of a sequel to Boondock Saints since 2002. But if Troy Duffy is to be believed, it's going to actually start filming this August. This past St. Patrick's Day Duffy claimed, via his YouTube account, that Boondock Saints: All Saints Day had been given a green light by Sony. The video was removed within hours, and the news was never confirmed elsewhere. But Duffy isn't daunted. He gave a long interview to Washington D.C.'s WJFK insisting that, barring a SAG strike, filming would indeed begin in August. He actually gave away the entire plot, so no one actually needs to go see it should it actually be made. The film will find the brothers in retirement in Ireland, living off the land, until a priest is murdered in Boston. They're framed for the murder, and they quickly fly off to America to seek retribution. Lest you think it's all wishful thinking on the part of Duffy, Geeks of Doom got their hands on the first production diary.
I'm still very skeptical this will actually be made -- and if it is, that it will be anything other than a direct to DVD thing. Between litigation and a bad reputation, I have a hard time believing any studio is really willing to back Duffy at this point. And while it's a fun movie, hasn't the time for a sequel come and gone? Even the Hot Topic t-shirt revival is over. What about the plot? After all the events in the first film, would the MacManus brothers really up and retire to Ireland to live off the land? Feel free to answer all or none of these questions, my readers.

First of all, is it really necessary to frame someone for murder when they've already committed several before?
Second, if you've retired to another country and were framed for murder, why would you then return to the country where you're wanted for murder? It can't be to clear your good name, since you don't have one.
As much as I loathe Duffy, I'm actually kinda hoping this goes through and that these plot details are accurate so that his idiocy is once again on full display. I doubt this movie ever gets made, though.

I buy the plot. Things got WAY too hot at the end of the first one. All vigilante debate aside,t hey would have been considered serial killers once the authorities figured out their body count. It would have made sense for them to get back the Ireland ASAP after capping a mob boss in public.

I didn't find the first film that great to begin with and the sequel should go straight to video.
Would this even be news if it weren't for the film Overnight?
The story for the second feels like crap to me. I would rather see something new and fresh.

Well, it would be approprate for the sequel to go straight to video, seeing as the original did. Which, by the way, wasn't all that good really.

It's a movie! A good one at that! Are all of you'll mentally retarted because you cant tell the difference between a good movie with entertainment in it from a boring movie of what you call "real"?
I'm excited to hear there is going to be a sequel, I can't wait to see it. And AS for all you dumb asses who believe that duffy would actully give out the story line to a fucker that is dogging him on the net, your stupid for believing it!
He was a genius for directing the first one, and will be for the second!!

yo i with carolyn you guys are confusing something entertaining with something real even if that is the plot it doesn't have to make seance it just has to entertain and it sounds good to me the idea that some jerk disgracing their name making them come back would only work if the guy keeps killing innocent people the saints wouldn't just come back to kill some guy and yea it prolly would go straight to dvd
