Mike Myers Writing 'Austin Powers 4'?
What do you do when your new movie turns into one of the biggest bombs of the summer? You go back to what you know. Take this rumor for what it's worth -- probably not much given its "anonymous insider" source -- but the word is that Mike Myers has shaken off (or maybe learned from) the disaster that was The Love Guru, and has set to writing a fourth Austin Powers flick. According to the same rumor, he'll be collaborating on the screenplay with Michael McCullers, the SNL vet who wrote and made his directing debut with this year's considerably more successful Baby Mama. The plot will have a "father and son theme loosely based on his own life" (??!!) which suggests a prominent place in the cast for Seth Green.I didn't think The Love Guru was very funny -- and neither did anyone else, I don't think -- but I did appreciate how giddy Myers got about fart jokes and lame double entendres. Genuine enthusiasm can go a long way in comedy, and Myers has never lacked for that, which is largely the reason why I'm not ready to give up on him just yet. Well, and also the fact that I thought all three of the Powers movies were pretty good.
And I'll say this: I laughed at the Guru Pitka's use of "Mariska Hargitay" as a patented mantra. Sue me.

as long as you've got morons wasting their money on movies directed by those two idiots, Friedberg & Seltzer, there's no reason to think why an 'Austin Powers 4' couldn't also be a financial success.

carg0 -- being a little harsh. I know they are low brow movies but they still have some entertainment value :)

I'm not going to lie, I thought 'The Love Guru' was alot better IN EVERY SINGLE WAY than the performance of 'You Dont Mess With The Zohan'.
my first example is that of the hockey animation in between the games where they beat the shit out of each other.
GIVE ME ONE GOOD REASON HOW ZOHAN WAS BETTER THAN GURU........
.... BRING IT

the truth hurts, i know. lol
honestly, i can tolerate their audience (too young or drunk to know any better) but the truth is those two are parasites. period.
if it wasn't for real directors working with real writers and actors making real movies (something that requires actual talent and creativity), those two idiots wouldn't have a job.
but other than that, i love those guys...

the love guru had quite a few jokes. i wasnt expecting much they way u guys beat it to a pulp then i watched it and i was with 2 other people and everyone in the theatre was laughing. ESPECIALLY at j=justin timberlake who did the quebec thing pretty damn good (im born and raised in montreal quebec now living in toronto)
i hated every single austin powers movie. id take the love guru over any of them.
sadly i think hes a one trick pony like chris tucker and rush hours

I am so over Mike Myers, and even more over Austin Powers. He needs to just disappear for a while and give us all a much needed break.

I am most likely the only one but I have never been a fan of Mike Myers. The Austin Powers movies to me have always looked dumb and I wondered why people go to stuff like that. There are really not that many good people that make funny movies.
I will pass on dumb movies like these. I so wish people would go back to making stuff like people did years ago. Because what is out there now sucks. I so would like to see people like Eddie murphy, Will Ferrel & Adam Sandler to name a few to go back to what made them big in the first place not this stuff they are doing now.
Mind you I am not the biggest Sandler fan either but at least stuff he worked on years ago I could at least watch. Just looking at the Zohan movie trailer made be sick. So why would I ever go to a movie like that if the trailer looks bad.
Trailers are things to make you want to go see the real thing not turn you off. I would add Ben Stiller but I will wait until after Tropic Thunder.
So I would like to know what is with people in Holywood making these weird movies now instead of what made people like them in the first place.
