Fan Made: 'Dark Knight' Sequel Poster

Here's a piece of coolness that's been making its way around the internets today. From our friends at First Showing (via Superhero Hype) comes what appears to be a fan made poster for The Dark Knight Returns (click to enlarge), a sequel to this summer's The Dark Knight. No, a third Batman film has not been announced yet, so don't go gettin' your knickers in a twist thinking they've already started promoting the next film. (God, please don't tell me they've already started promoting it -- I think I speak for all us online movie dudes when I say we need a few months off to recover from this puppy.)
That said, can you spot the two new characters this poster introduces? Yes, one of them is Riddler, but the other is a bit harder to locate. (Hint: Look at the newspaper articles.) No one knows exactly what direction the next Batman movie will head in, except for the Nolan boys should they decide to pen the script. Riddler is a cool character, but is he too close to Joker? Should they take a chance on Catwoman? Should they dip into a lesser known villain, or create a brand new one? One thing's for sure: You folks will not get tired of this debate anytime soon ...

New villain should be the original villain for dark knight....Black Mask...
I think he will fit in perfectly in with Nolan's Gotham..

This is a fantastic poster. While both the Riddler and the Joker are grade A psychopaths (especially in Nolan's world), I think the idea of a "behind the scenes" criminal, one less intent on being flashy than the Joker, could really make a great villain and a riveting story.
Here's what I am thinking:
At the end of the first movie, they announced the villain in the second with Gordon handing the Joker card to Batman.
I think they did the same thing at the end of the second movie, just in a less obvious way -- there isn't a "villain" in the third movie, since it will revolve around Batman as the menace. The villain will have to be in the Zodiac mold, and his ambition is simply to trap and out Batman.
Too obvious? Probably. But they didn't exactly make the Joker a secret :)
Look forward to seeing TDK again, and hope that a third movie materializes that matches it in grit and engagement.

Can you imagine the viral marketing with character like the Riddler?
Staggers the mind.
And wasn't Vicki Vale a photojournalist? Why would she be writing for... oh, wait, wait, that's right, it's only a movie, it's only movie.

I can see The Riddler in the Nolanverse if he operates like a terrorist, sending riddles about places he's going to bomb. Not being as much of a prescence as Joker was.
Although, I'd prefer either Black Mask as the next villain or I say, bring in Phantasm, from the Mask of the Phantasm animated movie. She'd bring a needed female character, cool villain, and a love interest. I'd rather see her than Catwoman.

The poster's pretty well done. I like the symbols and code on the hand and paper. I'm not a fan of the big question mark, though. It doesn't feel like it's part of the poster.
Very interesting idea, though.

I think the next film should be called "The Caped Crusader".

It's really impossible to think of any other villain than The Riddler for part 3. He fits the profile of the series just fine, any other would be too unknown or not dark enough. I love this poster and I am such a junkie, part of me wants it to be real, the other wants to take a rest. Truth is, it will come up at parties and discussions for at least a year before the viral campaign gives us that same ? sign and we all go insane.

I see no reason the Riddler could not be in the next Batman movie. I my self would like to see some one new though seeing as the Riddler was already in a movie before. But at least he would be different this time around. Also the Joker and the Riddler do not seem like the same people because they aren't. May be to some people they would seem to much of the same but if you read the comics you know different.
I also agree with what some other posters have said about Black mask. I also would add in Deadshot or Hush.
Another thing you could do is from the Batman: Animated series and bring in Batwoman which is really three different people. In the show she goes to kill Penguin, and crime bosses Rupert Thorne and Carlton Duquesne.
You could change it up for the movie and in the end people would think she killed the people so Batman gets back in on the good side of people in Gotham.
Though what ever happens all I can do is hope it is as good as the Dark Knight if not better.

Looks cool, though it reminds me to much of the joker's posters.
I think they'll make the Riddler a more classy villian not a crazy psycho like joker.

Bane seems to be the only real choice in the hard-grit universe of Nolan.

actually when I first saw the picture, I didnt realise that it was it was a question mark drawn on the picture, instead I thought it was some huge wings drawn over the batman picture, and that of course reminded me of: MAN-BAT!
I think he would work as a nice charecter for the movie and as a nice way to "clean up" batman, so he can be a hero again

For the third installment to the Nolan Batman series, in my opinion, I believe they should throw in the Riddler as Johnny Depp and throw in the Penguin (whom I'm really not fond of ) as Phillip Seymour Hoffman.
