EXCLUSIVE: Brand-New Poster for Ridley Scott's 'Body of Lies'!

There's a lot of cinematic power behind Warner Bros. upcoming political thriller Body of Lies: It's directed by Oscar-winner Ridley Scott (Gladiator), it's written by Oscar-winner William Monahan (The Departed), and it stars reliable talents / big-time movie stars like Leonardo DiCaprio and Russell Crowe. Based on the novel by David Ignatius, Body of Lies tells the story of a journalist who is enlisted by the CIA to help track down a suspected terrorist. That's only the sketchiest of plot synopses, but since I haven't read the book, I'd like to enjoy Body of Lies without knowing the whole story.And we're very pleased to bring you the very first look at the official one-sheet for Body of Lies. (It's behind the jump!) The film hits theaters on October 10 -- and since it's a Ridley Scott film, you just know I'll be there opening night. If it's half as good as Mr. Scott's last "action" film (the stellar Black Hawk Down), then I'll be a happy guy. (Click here for the poster!)

The screenplay is really good. It's a fun read. I like all Ridley Scott films, and you know what? A Good Year was awesome. Really hot chicks: the French gal Archie Panjabi, and that American girl, who was in the drug movie with Heath Ledger. The drug movie was Candy and the American girl was Abbie Cornish. Anyways, maybe I only really liked A Good Year because I got to fuck my now-ex-gf at the end of it. It's that kind of a movie. Oh, yeah, Body of Lies should be great.

I've seen the trailer a couple of times, but this is the first time I've heard the William Monahan/Departed connection. Watching Leo scream into his cellphone for nearly the entire trailer, saying pretty much the same things...I'm out on a limb here, it's my ass on the line, etc...now I know why the trailer seemed a little too familiar.

i've been hearing this all the time.That dicaprio gets fucked in every movie.Really can you tell more than one movie where his character is on the edge?The only movie is the departed and you have to question yourselves if he was so damn good in the departed that maked you think that.

The movie should be far superior to this poor design of the poster. Leo's torso has been stretched to accommodate the title. He looks deformed rather than dynamic. I hope someone rethinks this.

Hazhir Darioush, one of Iran’s filmmakers of Shah’s era, who was the executive director of “Tehran Film Festival”, says in his memoirs, “We wanted to show Stanley Kubrick movies in Tehran Film Festival, and invited him to attend the festival. After many months of calls to so many people, finally I was successful to arrange a meeting with him at his office. After he heard our invitation, he almost angrily threw me out of his office! In spite of all that, those who are behind making of the movie “Body of Lies”, have made changes to their scenario so it would not be in conflict with the Islamic Republic of Iran’s laws. They emphasize that the Iranian actress had her Islamic “hijab” – scarf on, all during filming. Up to now, Hollywood has made many movies about Middle Eastern countries and other places of the world, using local actors or actors with similar background, but never before had they changed a scenario for an actress to be able to play in a film so it would not clash with laws of one country. By the way, the odd thing is that the movie was not even filmed in Iran, but in another country. Well, it is not because the people behind making of “Body of Lies” could not find
another actress to fulfill the role. Why then they had to change the scenario and align themselves with the anti-human laws of government of Iran so an Iranian actress can play in their movie? Regardless of what the real reason is, the producers of “Body of Lies” have ignored censorship, oppression, and mass killing of people by Islamic Republic of Iran, and by doing so, they have damaged their movie’s message. In today’s world, with no place remaining for humanistic values, principals, and ethics, influential filmmakers such as Stanley Kubrick are missed a lot.
