James Bond Awesomeness: Ask Daniel Craig and Marc Forster a Question!
Filed under: Site Announcements, Fandom, James Bond

Cinematical is absolutely stoked to announce a very cool opportunity. In just a couple of weeks, we'll be heading to London to sit down with James Bond himself, Daniel Craig, and Quantum of Solace director Marc Forster. We'll also be taking part in some other super awesome secret activities, but we'll fill you in on all that as time goes on. First, however, we need your help. Yes, you! The dude (or dudette) reading this post, with one hand scratching that annoying mosquito bite while the other hand ...
... Anyway, we need your help with some questions. Basically we're sitting down with Bond and Forster, but the words that come out of our mouths will be from you. Is there anything you've always wanted to know about Daniel Craig, Marc Forster, James Bond or Quantum of Solace? Sure there is, so spit it out now or forever live with the fact that you had a chance to ask Craig where he buys his underwear and you passed it up! [Makes shape of an 'L' on my forehead, then sighs because it's so 2004 of me]
Submit any and all questions you have for these boys in the comments below. If you want to keep it private (those are my kind of questions!), then feel free to send an email to leads AT Cinematical DOT Com, and title it JAMES BOND QUESTION. We'll choose our favorites, chuck 'em out to Craig and Forster, then post their answers (with credit to the brilliant readers who asked said questions) when we get back from our trip across the pond. Quantum of Solace hits theaters on November 14.
Sound off below (and thanks for helping us out with this -- your next virtual martini is on us)!

I would love you guys to ask Daniel Craig what it was like to take part in the development of the Quantum of Solace video game.

I've been wondering what they think about this: Sean Connery once said that the secret to playing Bond was to make everything seem effortless. This Bond is not that way at all - what changed and why?

Hello Cinematical,
Could you ask Mr. Foster and Mr. Craig a couple of questions for me?
We have been hearing a lot of rumors from the set of James Bond in Panama. From rival gang wars to shoot outs involving the star of the film. These all turned out to be fake speculations. So clear things up:
What did you think of the city?
What made you choose it in the first place?
Did you get what you wanted or expected from it?
If you had to shoot another film in Panama, would you do it?

Thanks a lot Cinematical

Let me start by saying I'm a huge fan of both of these guys, though I guess the fact I'm typing anything here at all renders that note unnecessary. Almost as unnecessary as this intro. I digress.
First off, for both Mr. Forster and Mr. Craig, what do you think it would take to bring Sean Connery out of retirement to participate in this Bond revitalization? Would it be making him a villain, having him direct a film, or something else entirely? Or do you think it would be better for the new spirit of this franchise if it removed itself entirely from Bonds of yore?
Second -- the Cinematical people are gonna love speculating about this, I'm sure (I hope) -- Daniel Craig, if you were to play any superhero, who would it be? If it's already been taken, is there another hero you'd consider, who hasn't been done yet? And by the by -- completely unrelated, but it just occurred to me -- what's the word on your I, Lucifer movie?
Plus, I can't wait for Defiance. So long.

Addendum: The following are far better questions that either of the two I already posted. Is there a limit?
Mr. Forster, you've made a lot of diverse movies, so what is it that drew you to Bond -- besides the obvious, I mean., it's Bond, but still. What do you think you brought to Quantum of Solace to really make it your own? How do you think it differs stylistically or tonally from Casino Royale, apart from the apparent action increase (judging by the trailer, an understatement)?
And Mr. Craig, after getting one stint as Bond under your belt, what was it like working on Quantum of Solace? Were your dealings with the director different? How did you prepare for the Bond in Casino Royale versus the Bond in this film?
And finally (no promises), any good stories from the set?

I didn't think I had a question, but I just came up with one!
This is for for Daniel and Marc both.
There have been spoilers floating around that point to Quantum of Solace ending with a cliffhanger that carries into Bond 23. Will, for the most part, the plot lines of Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace be wrapped up in this film?

my ques are:
both are for Craig and Forster.
In reviews from Casino Royale someone said Craig was the best Bond ever. Do you believe this or think the reviewer was just sucking up?
From hype about QOS and CR there were reports that said Bond would be doing "gay" scenes in the new visions. One report even said that Craig may have even suggested it but that wasnt confirmed (as far as i know). Is there any truth behind this and if so why change Bond from a famed womanizer to a man that is a two way street? If not true then what are your feelings on these rumors?
Given the recent events reguarding russia and a most speculated cold war part two, would the new Bond visions try to get that tied in seeing that past Bond films have had plots or something in them reguarding the cold war that already happened?
If there was one Bond villian of the past that you would want to write in to the new series who would it be and why?

Just commenting -- I'd have to say he's got the build of Thor but the awesomeness of Cap. That's my take. Ha, maybe Captain Britain.

an: What would you want your legacy to be after making these Bonds? Each actor has left their shoeprint, what's yours? How did you "tweak" your Bond for this film, what were the changes in his persona that you wanted? Would you ever consider directing and:
Marc, without having see QoS yet, it seems that we have a small work of art awaiting us let alone a Bond movie. How hard was it to balance the basic "needs" of the EoN/script and your "retro" inspired vision? Was it hard to do and were there many script conflicts?
:) Thank you and best to you both

Daniel: One question really, what with all the intrigue into your personal life etc, and what with you being such a private man, is playing such a high profile role worth the intrusion? What are your visions for Bond in the future? Is there one?
Marc: Would you consider directing another Bond or was one time enough? Your visions for Bond as you would like them?
I admire both your resume's greatly and appreciate that we have such talents in the business.
Hugs.

I saw my first Bond, Thunderball, on its initial release in 1965, at the age of 6, and have been a fan ever since. Most of the fans I have talked with online have the same question about QOS that I do: the franchise is responsible for some of the most memorable poster art of the 20th Century, particularly the McGinnis posters. Why do the current posters look so darned bland and photo-shopped? Eon set the standard for exciting artwork. How about giving us more!

Do you foresee James Bond dealing with issues/villains/organizations that are politically sensitive in the West. In particular the Israeli-Palestinian conflict: could Bond work with peace-loving a two-state-solution seeking Palestinian activist and a smoking-hot Mossad agent to fight against Hamas or Islamic Jihad?

Hello cinematical!
Could you ask Daniel Craig and Marc Foster about:
1) If QUANTUM's boss is going to appear in Quantum of Solace? Would he be more like Blofeld or just new ,,number one villain"?
2) Are you expecting a boycot of the film in Bolivia and Bolivia's ally Venezuela as main QoS villain (Dominic Greene) want's to make coup in Bolivia?
3) How close did you cooperate with Tryarch studio team, who make new James Bond video game?

This question is for Mr. Forster, I seem to remember him being quoted as saying this Bond would be a throwback to some of the older Bond movies that were equal parts humor and action. Judging from the trailer and plot synopsis, however, this seems not to be the case. Was this an idea you had early on that you put to the side for the sake of better storytelling, or are the trailers simply misleading?

Well: two questions:
first, for both (or even for you guys). In the movie, Bond goes to Bolivia, and in the trailers there are some amazing scenes in the sea... that is in Bolivia? i mean, is there some sea in Bolivia? i think not.
For Craig: Would you like to be in a remake of a Steve Mcqueen movie, perhaps his biography?

Thank you for the opportunity for the questions to be answered if I'm lucky enough like others to get picked. Anyway for my question for Daniel.
Would you ever like to work with Christian Bale one day?
As for Mark Forster
Did you like the short story of Quantum of Solace?
