Fan Made: The Dark Bailout
Filed under: Fandom, Trailers and Clips
I'm sure most of you watched President Bush's speech last night on the government's economic bailout plan -- and while no one really understands the whole thing (with the exception of the fact that $700 BILLION dollars is a ridiculous amount of money), here's a video that might help piece together the puzzle. Cinematical reader Matthew B. watched Bush's speech and realized how much it had in common with a certain scene from a certain movie that's made a lot of money at the box office in the past few months. Not exactly $700 billion, but enough. So, in the spirit of cracking a smile during these harshest of times, we present The Dark Bailout.
... if only Bruce Wayne was in charge of running the show.
UPDATE: And speaking of President Bush, check out the new trailer for W. after the jump ...
If you have or know of something cool, groovy, nifty, shiny, brilliant and Fan Made, feel free to shoot an email to leads AT cinematical DOT com.

So the US citizens are bad guys and the Joker is who ...the White Knight? You leftists do tend to trip over yourself while trying to bash Bush. This "parody" makes absolutely no sense.

Wow...really? Was this written by Debbie Downer? Lighten up man, I don't think its supposed to be anything other than a clever combination of two things that aren't related at all.

Bush is the bad parody here. I think I may have lent his speech a little more consideration had it been spoken by somebody in bad clown makeup. (And no, actually BEING a clown doesn't count)

It was meant to be funny, not a campaign commercial for Obama. You delusional right-wingers are so defensive these days!

Actually, it's not really an attack against Bush -- he's just the messenger. It's poking fun at the entire situation and the real mess we're all in -- doesn't matter which direction (right or left) you lean.

That's 7 times more than Dr. Evil was asking for ransom in the first Austin Powers movie. He always did think small.
Dr. Evil that is.

I think that this video is an excellent allegorical portrayal of what's happening with the government's management of the US economy....J/K but seriously, it parallels in a few ways. Despite the fact that nobody want to point fingers at anyone else, I think it's VERY important that the American public have some understanding of why we are in the current financial crisis that we're in.

I enjoyed it, and the fact people get upset over it, with a character called the Joker making the references add's a bit of irony. It's light hearted imo, y so serious?

I generally dont like too see the political stuff but this seemed pretty neutrul so I dont have a problem with it.
I enjoyed it up until the Joker - the lines delivered didnt really make any sense. I think the creator could have taken it a bit further and used portion where someone asks the joker if they think that he will be allowed to steal our money. That would have truly made a statement.
I think the creator instead just wanted squeeze in a jab at Bush and be done with it.

I didn't watch it yet, but I wanted to say I am getting really tired of Cinematical pushing Stone's "W." movie every time I blink. The man hates Bush, to the point that Stone even compared him to Ahmadinejad. And the movie is obviously scheduled to influence voters before the election.
I don't mind seeing things I disagree with, be it ethical or political. But I hate being banged on the head with ideologies, and I expect nothing less from Oliver Stone.

This is a movie blog.
W is a movie.
If you don't like it don't read it. Cinematical is not saying "Go watch W and vote for Obama!"
They post trailers for the movie and discuss the actors that are in it.
Stop whining about an "ideology" pressed on you when there isn't one. Why do some (certainly not all) conservatives make it their goal to be the matryr or victimized on the most banal of things? It's so inane.
