Fan Made: Angelina Jolie -- The Doll

When I see fan creations like the one above, I wonder how so many celebrity dolls turn out so crappy. I mean, they do all those fancy face scans and likeness tests, but half the time the little doll barely resembles the celebrity it's showcasing. Well, all of that technology is pretty much a waste when you take into consideration the image at the top of this post. The above Angelina Jolie doll is a creation of artist Noel Cruz, and was just featured earlier this month in The Daily Mail. However, this isn't some hand-made doll, born from scans and hi-tech gadgets. Actually, Cruz just "removed the factory paint" from an ordinary doll and repainted her Jolie-style. That's it. No extra molding -- just some perfectly whipped-up color and a wig. Talk about some stellar talent right there.
What would something like this cost? Well, a private bidder purchased it for £2,000 (or roughly $3,700) on eBay. Yeah, a little more expensive than the last Barbie doll you bought, huh? Those looking to save a little money can instead pick up an Angelina Jolie Tomb Raider doll on eBay for about $10 (sexy lips still included).

May be ten years a go, but now she's older, has baby stretch marks and all of those tatoo's she acquired. Plus if she were to get into a cat fight, her lips might get scratched and she would hemorrhage terribly. Cheesy acting as well.
Now if they ever remake "GOLDFINGER", she could play the part of Pussy Galore.

Yes, I agree with you. I thought Liv Tyler when I saw the photo of the doll and thought "what?" when it read Angelina Joli.

The original one shown with black hair looks more like Liv Tyler but the others do amazingly enough (except green hair doll) look like Angelina. Only thing missing are all her tatoos. Dude has some great artistry!

That's not Angie, that's Liv. Angie's hair isn't that dark and her eyes aren't that blue. Plus - when did Angie have thick bangs? I think the artist was looking at the wrong picture when he made this doll.

I thought this was Liv Tyler. After seeing it was supposed to be Angelina Joie, I looked at it again and I can see a tad of resemblance but it still looks so much more like Liv Tyler who is beautiful also.

When I clicked on it based on the tease on the first page, I was thinking "Wow, that girl looks just like a Barbie Doll". I thought they were saying some "unknown" actress out there happens to look just like a doll. Well, I thought she looked just like a Barbie Doll. Now that I know what's going on, the artist must have painted over a specialty Barbie Doll. (Not the cheap $10 ones).
Its a beautiful doll though.
