Will Ryan Gosling Become the Green Lantern?
Last month, Elisabeth shared some concept art for the upcoming Green Lantern movie, and she mentioned the possibility of it being on par with Iron Man. For that to happen, there would have to be a pretty dynamic star in the driver's seat. So how about Ryan Gosling?A Latino Review source at Warner Brothers has said that the studio wants the Lars and the Real Girl actor to wear that glowing green ring. Now, the concept art I referenced might look a little bit beefy for the thin star, but Hal Jordan was modeled after Paul Newman, at least partially, so Gosling would be a pretty good match for that (should the green dude be Jordan). But even more importantly -- Gosling knows how to make the strange seem natural -- he made a heartfelt and funny film where he was in love with a flipping Real Doll. If he can do that, he can make the green look just as cool as RDJ made Iron Man, and give the same excellent depth to the portrayal.
It's also miles above Seth Green, Justin Long, and David Boreanaz. Agreed?

Hey now, let's not knock Seth Green or David Boreanaz. I loves me my Buffy (though I will admit that Green would've been an inappropriate choice).
Gosling would be great.

Only knocking them as polar opposite, and not entirely great, casting choices for this. I adore the Buffy. :)

Seems like a fine choice to me. Honestly I don't care a whole lot who they pick as long as they make a good movie. I've been waiting for this one for a long time.

Ryan Gosling would be a great choice to be Green Lantern.
I don't think that Seth Green has the body type to pull it off. Neither does Justin Long.
Angel would be a nice choice aswell.

I don't know. I've never seen anyting with Ryan Gosling in it. But from his pictures he looks a little on the boyish side.
And in David Boreanez' defense he already played the voice of Hal Jordan in the New Frontier animated movie and his voice really worked. But I'm not sure about his look either.
I think it should be someone with more many, rugged looks like Hugh Jackman. Hal Jordan has a very classic masculine look in the comics.

Ryan Gosling is amazing. He could do for Green Latern what Robert Downey Jr. did for Iron Man. I'm all for comic book adaptations that get a lead, and don't make the thing ridiculously cheesy a la Daredevil. It's cool the talented 'indie' guys are getting these roles. they bring a whole new depth.

No, yeah, this is great. I mean, I would have expected Hal to be played by, y'know, a grownup, and not a skinny little wisp of a lad, but no, yeah, I see what they're going for. Sure, who better to play a cocky, swaggering test pilot than someone who looks like a slightly simple-minded little boy. Hey, you know, not the direction I would have gone, but I'm sure this fey manchild will do a great job. Or at least he'll put in a good effort and earn a gold star and an attaboy.

I recently spotted Gosling at my gym and he's beefed up quite a bit. Physically, I think he'll fit the role of Hal Jordan.

I'd like to see Thor brought to the screen. Anyone born within the last twenty years would not know who I am talking about, but he was a interesting character in the comics.

Gosling would be a great choice for Green Lantern. Maybe the sequel could be a Green Arrow crossover where they go on a roadtrip.

David Boreanaz all the way... Gosling is good but David is perfect for the role, hes just an amazing actor. The only other person I could see in this role is Jensen Ackles.

As much as I respect Ryan Gosling as an actor, I still see Hal Jordan played by Josh Duhamel. (Las Vegas, Transformers). He's a talented actor that looks the part. As far as I know Gosling is one of the few actors on WB's list along with Duhamel, so anything can happen until casting officially starts. (It's all gossip right now as far as I know)
He're's Josh:
