Full 'Star Trek' Gallery Launches!

Pictured: Eric Bana as the new Star Trek villain, Nero.
As you may or may not already know, Paramount went nutty with Star Trek images over the past couple of days. Not only did they release something in the neighborhood of 10 photos, but they did so across several different websites -- which, in case you were wondering (or in a sympathetic mood), made our job of tracking them all down for you oh so much fun. But now, my friends, comes the real fun part -- because we finally have all those brand spanking new Star Trek images in one place. No clicking between eight or nine different sites, venturing off to the weird and scary world of online movie news. No sir. One stop shop. (And pardon me for veering off topic, but doesn't Nero above look like he's just itching for a glow-stick and a hot Saturday night rave right about now?)
Those interested in learning more about the film's storyline (which will detail how the original Trek crew all came together, minus the hazing and keg stands) can head over to this post. Also included are some juicy nuggets of info from director J.J. Abrams. The rest of you can jump right into that gallery below and get busy with your bad selves. Star Trek touches down in theaters on May 8.
Thoughts on the new images?

I was honestly skeptical of how this movie's design treatment would be handled, even if J.J. Abrams (who I'm a huge fan of) was involved.
I certainly can't align myself with the TOS fans that didn't like anything other than TOS, as I preferred TNG-ENT enjoyable, even though they had some weak points with themselves.
But after seeing these images, reading that Entertainment Weekly article that just came out, and hearing how J.J. approached the film, my trust in the project was fully restored... and then some!
The styling, the uniforms (which are definitely the classic style with a modern Under Armour/sporting wear flare, the unique all-black treatment Kirk is wearing and shots of what the Enterprise interiors could look like... it really looks like they're really reaching out to a bigger audience this time!
I'm definitely excited to see the trailer that's supposed to be attached to Quantum of Solace!

I don't know. I'm really not a JJ Arbrams fan - I think he is very overrated. However, he does have a unique perspective and I was curious to see what he was going to do with Star Trek.
I'm actually kind of dissapointed that he went with such a retro look on the uniforms. When I see them, all I can think of is classic Star Trek. When added to the very modern and update looking bridge - it almost looks silly. Though, nero looks to be one of the most ridiculous looking villains we've seen in a long time.
Considering the look of the film - does anyone think that Abrams is going intentional 'camp' with the next film?
(side note: whats with the plastic looking faces)

Is this Star Trek High School?
In the Star Trek Future it must be like an Annapolis graduate today being given the command of an Aircraft Carrier.

Is it me or do the actors all look short and tiny? Must be the powdered food you have to eat in space. Also, what's with Harold as Sulu? I keep thinking he's going to whip out a joint on the holodeck and get jiggy. I agree with previous commentator, Nero looks absurd (and short and tiny). Did we not learn anything from Khan? As for J.J Abrams himself, I'm not apt to like much of anything the man directs or involves himself in. I walked out of cloverfield 10 minutes in, was just too derivative. If that's any clue, Star Trek is straight up derivative without pretense -- going out on a limb here but this film looks like garbage on a stick. J.J Abrams is America's Uwe Boll.

I think Star Trek had it's heyday in the 70s and 80s but it's over. The remaining fanbase doesn't seem to like anything, so this movie hasn't got much of a chance. The original show was a product of the Kennedy era only ridiculously simple...and we are a long way from JFK now.

I'm impressed. All I really want is a compelling plot.
