Would You Rather: 'Ghostbusters 3' or 'Lost: The Movie'?

Since we're kinda close to Halloween, it seems folks are all about talking up potential supernatural projects on the big screen. First we have Ghostbusters 3 -- a sequel we've been hearing lots about lately, especially since it was announced that writers had been summoned to throw together a script. The original cast might come back, but word has it a set of new, Apatow-ish younger recruits may be called in to take over -- with the name Seth Rogen coming up time and time again. When we caught up with Rogen over the summer, he claimed to have no idea they were even thinking about a Ghostbusters 3, but seemed excited at the possibility ("Sounds fun, though -- I'm psyched about it"). Now, well, he's changed course -- and during the recent Zack and Miri press junket, had this to say to Collider: "It's hard to imagine that would be good, isn't it? I mean just as a movie fan I am the first guy to be skeptical of that. It sounds like a terrible idea when you first hear it." Make up your mind, Seth! Do you or don't you dig it?
Changing course, during his recent Trek-outage J.J. Abrams briefly spoke to MTV about a possible Lost: The Movie. While it definitely seems like an iffy proposition, he said, "The only reason why I think maybe there would be a movie is that by doing that - which is hopefully the right way to go and that's it - you do have that sense of, well, it didn't go on any longer and therefore is there something else that you could do? So there's a chance, but my gut is it would never happen."
So here's our question today: Would you rather a Ghostbusters 3 or Lost: The Movie? Which potential project shows the most promise?

GB3
Movies of TV shows shouldn't be made unless the show was canceled without tying up loose ends or if they want to "reboot" a TV series.

For the first time in my life, the prospect of a Ghostbusters III sounds okay. They're getting writers from The Office, Bill Murray's positive about it, they could make a really fun flick. Of course, it could be an unmitigated disaster as well, but I want to give them the benefit of a doubt.
As for Lost: The Movie? I adore Lost, but I think a feature film would be utterly pointless.

GB3.
Lost The Movie would do about as well as the latest X Files Movie, targeted directly at those "in-the-know" and leaving everyone who isn't a rabid fan of the show (and I don't know how you can be a casual fan of Lost) completely unimpressed. GB3 has a much bigger fanbase, and it isn't a sacred cow (like Indiana Jones or Star Wars/Trek) with a whole lot of mythology.
I will always enjoy a decent GB just like I will always enjoy a decent Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. These franchises, while awesome parts of my childhood, are and never were prone to taking themselves too seriously and so you could take them in any one of a million great directions.
Having the Apatow guys (Seth Rogen especially) involved is also a great sign that it won't turn into a dumb Scary Movie style comedy, or a Brett Ratner cliched comedy, but a unique and semi-intelligent journey through a very silly and unrealistic universe.

What about a movie about the Ghostbusters being hired to investigate an island where unusual things happen?
Oh, and neither of these should ever see the light of day. Or the dark of a theater... Whatever.

How bout a Ghostbusters movie where the orginal four are transformed by a demon into senior citizens (Ed Asner, Ernie Borgnine, Seymour Cassell and Bill Cobbs)?

I'm really torn on this one. My initial reaction was "why make a movie out of a perfectly good tv show," and "more Ghostbusters, sweet!"
However the more I hear about the apparent uncertainty of the new Ghostbusters project and knowing the track record of similar projects, I'm growing less and less excited about a new Ghostbusters film.
In regards to Lost, I have to agree with Eddie. It would be a film automatically aimed at viewers of the show. While there is tons of source material to come up with a great concept, they would have to make a tremendous effort to make it accessable to the average movie goer while keeping the fans of the show happy. I think if anything, keep it on tv. Do a mini-series if they feel the need to tell more of the story. Regardless of what happens, I think we can assume Abrams wont do anything stupid. Maybe.
...I went ahead and voted for Lost though, MWAH HA HA HA

I voted for Ghostbuster 3 ONLY because Lost should never be made into a movie. A show of that quality and "organisation" and suspense would not find a good plot to throw on screen in line with the show...

Who would vote for a Lost movie? Just grab two episodes, smash them together for a nice movie. Want a 3 hour extravaganza...that's 4 episodes. We're getting a ton of Lost stuff already. I want Venkman back.

this isn't even debatable.
'Lost' has become exactly that; lost direction with it's ridiculously convoluted story, lost millions in viewership and (when it's mercifully put out of it's misery in 2010) will be quickly lost in relevance.
im no fan of either but i've never heard anyone say anything negative about ghostbusters other than the sequel wasn't as good the original, but then again what sequel is?

I've been a big fan of Ghostbusters for a long time, and I as well as many other fans have been waiting for GB3 ever since GB2 was over. Bring it on! And who cares about "Lost"? The title for that show is perfect because that is what you'll be if you try to watch it! That show is a load of bullocks.

Lost: The Movie, no question. Not that I really think a Lost movie is necessary but I will vote for anything that won't tarnish the memory of one of the greatest comedies of all time any more than its first sequel already has. Have we not learned from Indy 4 and Live Free or Die Hard? Just re-release the first Ghostbusters in theatres for the 25th anniversary next year and leave it at that.
