New Image of Heath Ledger in 'Parnassus' Hits!

If you're like me and didn't get to peek at the teaser for Terry Gilliam's The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus, at least you can whet your Gilliam appetite with a new image of Heath Ledger, which you can see to the right. The image is certainly chilling, between the stern look, mask, and memories of what happened almost one year ago. I just hope that between the spectacular save with Johnny Depp, Jude Law, and Colin Farrell and the talents of Gilliam, that Ledger's death doesn't taint the film.
I found it fairly easy to separate Ledger and the Joker in The Dark Knight, because it was all about darkness, angst, and eeriness. But this morality tale? My fingers and toes are crossed that the chill I get looking at this picture doesn't translate to the big screen.
Ledger deserves a one-two amazing punch at the end of his career, and Gilliam deserves some luck. Don't you agree?

That's a really magnificent picture, but it's giving me chills too. Definitely harder to separate the actor and character here.
At the very least, considering the quality of actors that stepped up to bat to replace him, I'm certain that this film will do him justice.
Gilliam certainly does need a little luck. He's one of my favorites, but seems to be plagued with nothing but misfortune these days. It's sad, really.

The picture is certainly a little chilling. I am anxious to see the movie but I can honestly say only because I'm most curious to see how this plays out with the unexpected circumstances. No doubt this will be hyped heavily and probably start in February. If the movie has some guts to it, some passion or any kind of stimulation it's going to do fine. I surely hope it is not a flop if it is hyped as much as I think it will be. Even if it doesn't do what's expected I don't believe in the end it will hurt Ledger's name. He will always be most famous as The Joker and the Brokeback movie.

this movie is going to be bitter-sweet to see.. :(
I feel so bad for his family- you know how much hype there's going to be that they have to hear..
I'm sure it's going to be a great movie

I dont think Heath should necessarily be rewarded for his selfish actions. Lets see..he dumped his wife and small kid to go be a drug addict..but because he was a "movie star" we need to treat this bum like he was gold? If the guy who lived down the street from you did the same thing you would call it like it really was..a selfish bum...
