A brand spanking new international trailer for Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince has hit the internets, and since the voiceover uses the words "This year ...", one assumes this is an older trailer or one that wasn't meant to arrive until some point in 2009. Nevertheless, there's some new footage here -- some darkness, some romance, some running, some magic and a whole lotta fire. You'll remember how Half-Blood Prince was supposed to come out in just a couple of weeks from now, until Warner Bros. decided to pull a fast one and push the film's release date all the way back to July 17, 2009. With Potter and his cronies out of the way, the teen vamp flick Twilight moved up and has been trying to swipe whatever Potter thunder was left lingering. While Twilight may now own November, this new Potter trailer proves the boy wizard ain't exactly ready to give up his top spot on the teen fantasy totem pole just yet.
Check it out and let us know what you think.

Bloody brilliant.... Harry Potter isn't going anywhere anytime soon. This was exactly what I needed to keep my hopes alive for this franchise. Such a good trailer

Complete brilliance. But the awesomeness of this trailer just brings back the hatred towards WB for pushing it back so far...and I was just at the point where I was ok with it all. 8 more months....gah...

Agreed. The last bit of the trailer had me cracking up, but when I remembered that it wouldn't be coming out until next summer, all I could think was "Friggin' WB...".

I think this movie will be the first one of the series to reach the standards of the books, everything shown so far looks amazing and the added material seems really awesome! I can't wait!!!!

Awesome . . . couldn't wait to see it. Although, I must say, that WB made a lot of Harry's avid fans (me included)dissappointed by moving the showing date next year. And, "Twilight" has yet to prove its allure to capture fans like "Harry Potter" does, time and time again . . .

Sorry, but I didn't like it. The teaser trailer was great, but this reminds me of the other movies... directionless.
The last 2 movies finally felt like they were going somewhere. I hope this one takes it to the next level and drops the directionless and pointless kiddie subplots.

Anyone still concerned that Ginny has continued to be way too ugly (check the set photos) to deserve Harry's affection? Did the casting director expect her to become attractive at some point?

i TOTALLY agree. My first thought after reading HBP was, "uh oh, ginny better get re-cast" and they really should have. usually changing the actor in the middle of a franchise is stupid, but Harry needs a REALLY cute ginny or else it's not gonna make sense.
