One of my favorite films of the year so far is Danny Boyle's Slumdog Millionaire, and I seriously hope you all pony up some money to seek this one out when it hits theaters because it's seriously pretty spectacular. And I'm not just talking story here (which is sorta basic and somewhat familiar in terms of the fairytale structure), but the way this film was shot -- in Mumbai using Indian faces, most of which were locals and first-time actors -- just leaves you breathless and begging for more. The film is beautiful, tragic, funny, poignant and all those words you use to describe a really worthwhile moviegoing experience. The following teaser was put together for the London Film Festival, and it shows you a snippet of the stimulating opening chase sequence, which was shot over a number of days and, as Anne Thompson points out, was shot with the camera man "running with a hard drive in his backpack, holding the lightweight SI 2K gyro with a camera lens in his hand, which shoots a high-res digital image." Check it out below.
Slumdog Millionaire hits theaters on November 12.

I had a chance to see this at the Chicago festival last week but had a class. Really wish I'd gone now...it looks amazing. :(

What about that was supposed to be a teaser trailer?
It was just children running. It didd'nt even have a graphicfor the title.

I know Jeff, ridiculous. I don't know what Danny Boyle is playing at, you would have thought the studio would have hit the roof paying all that money for shooting a scene and it ends up just being a bunch of children running around. I could of done that with my Sony Handicam!
Maybe this is just a mistake and they should have sent the finished version with some rap music playing over it and big flashy neon titles.
I must say this is not looking like the Gansta Rap biopic I was expecting from the title, been a while since I went to New York but I swear that did not look like the Bronx to me. I knew that Danny Boyle would ruin this, they should have got Spike Lee to direct it after all.
