Chevy Chase and Burt Reynolds to Spoof Spoof Movies?
Could this be the spoof savior? The one that makes us forget about the wretched influx of crappily made spoofs? The Hollywood Reporter posts that Chevy Chase, Burt Reynolds, Vinnie Jones, Michael Madsen, and "Stuttering" John Melendez have signed on to spoof spoofs with Not Another Not Another Movie. The brainchild of David Murphy, the comedy will star Chase as the head of struggling studio who leaves the gig to his ex-con brother (Madsen). Then, "their equally inept gangster friend (Jones) takes over and assigns a production assistant (David Leo Schultz) to direct a spoof of spoof movies." Burt comes in as "an actor playing the director of the chaotic film within the film."
Oh, but there's more -- the film will be full of cameos that have actors playing themselves spoofing previous roles like Richard Tyson as the villain in Kindergarten Cop and Wolfgang Bodison as the marine on trial in A Few Good Men. James Duval also stars, so maybe we'll see him spoofing Frank the Bunny.
The optimist in me is thinking about all the comic possibilities with Chase, Reynolds, and the rest. But the cynic in me, bred through years of utterly disappointing spoofs, isn't holding her breath. How about you?

I'm sorry, but they're past their prime. Chase hasn't been funny since the '80's, and if you've seen Reynolds lately... jeeez.
I can reserve my judgment for the film until I see the first terrible trailer... but the "actors" you've mentioned turned my stomach. There has to be a point when they've earned enough money... when will that day come?

Did you know that Chevy Chase is gonna guest star in a swedish comedy show? In 8 whole episodes, written specifically for him. It's called "Hjälp!". Airing in the spring.

I have a weird thing for Burt Reynolds, I mean I even got him as the voice on my GPS. I got it from www.navtones.com that does celebrity voices for GPS. I love it! I also got Mr. T and Kim Cattrall but for some reason I keep going back to Burt!
Can't wait for the spoof movie. I hope Burt grows the biggest mustache ever!!!

A spoof movie? Anyone with a lame sense of humor can make one. A spoof of a spoof movie? Now that takes talent!

The movie is about a struggling studio that is so desperate it will do anything- and the anything is a spoof movie. We are actually poking a little fun at the studios that keep doing the spoof movies over and over again.
We have just begun post on this one, but it's has exceeded out expectations in so many ways. I believe this will be the funniest movie of 2009.
A few corrections: the leads are Chevy Chase, Vinnie Jones, Burt Reynolds, Michael Madsen, David Schultz, Jennifer Sciole, Ellie Gerber, Tim Piper, B.J. Bales, and William Walton. There's strong supporting roles from Ellen Albertini Dow, John Melendez, James Duvall, Wolfgang Bodison, Richard Tyson, Cassie Scerbo, Electra Avelan and Louis Mandylor.
The entire cast was amazing and delivered fantastic performance. There was just a special energy around our whole production. The audiences will be in for a treat.
