Stuff and Things: Who Watches The 'Star Trek' Men?
Filed under: Deals, RumorMonger, Fandom, Newsstand, Images, Posters

Some stuff and things for you on this glorious of Mondays ...
-- Paramount has unveiled two brand new Star Trek posters that look sorta creepy and horror movie-ish (especially the Kirk one to the left). These come in advance of the brand new trailer, which is due to play before Quantum of Solace this weekend (it will arrive online a week from today at 7am EST, according to the official movie website). AICN has a description of the trailer, but I've always found trailer descriptions to be quite boring. Nevertheless, if it gets you off, head on over there. The rest of you can check out those posters above in larger form in the gallery below.
-- In addition to those two Star Trek posters above, a brand new Watchmen poster featuring the character of Rorschach has been released. Check it out in the gallery below (hint: it's the first image). OH, and about the ending ... director Zack Snyder DID, in fact, change it. But there's only one, and it was the ending they had from the very beginning. He tells Dark Horizons all about it, but beware of spoilers.
More after the jump ...
-- So does James Cameron really hate the new Terminator film? Originally, McG told folks at Comic Con that he had Cameron's "blessing" to make the sequel, but then Cameron said "oh no, we ain't togetha like that!" Now, the director of the upcoming Avatar tells AICN the real dealio: "He asked me in a phone call when I was shooting in New Zealand earlier this year if I would be a supporter and creative participant in the new film. I said sure, send me the script and I'll give you my thoughts. And I warned him that free advice is usually worth what you pay for it. For whatever reason I never got the script and to date I haven't seen a foot of film other than what everybody's seen in the trailer, which is not enough to form an opinion. So I have zero basis for supporting or dissing the film." ... "Obviously I can't give my blessing (whatever that means anyway ) to the film completely blind. But I'm predisposed to be supportive based on Sam's involvement and his judgment, because I believe in him."
-- President-Elect Barack Obama's two daughters are now reading the Twilight books. I'm not sure why this is news (they're pre-teen girls and have a pulse, so what else would they read?), but it includes the word 'Twilight' and so, by law, MTV has to print it. Not only that, but Twilight fans started a riot in San Francisco prior to a signing that was later canceled. Congrats Twilight-ers, you're officially out of your minds.
-- JoBlo has posted one of the first images from the movie musical Nine, starring Daniel Day Lewis and a bunch of famous gals. Check it out below.

-- Actor James Cromwell "suffered a broken collarbone and a partially deflated lung" after falling off his bicycle over the weekend, but is expected to be released from the hospital on Monday.

I am not a "Trekie" by any means, was never a fan of any of the variations of the show, and in most cases could careless about anything that has to do with Star Trek...until now...the new movie intrigues the hell outta me, and i firmly believe that movie will be utterly amazing! Speaking of utterly amazing, those "WATCHMEN" posters are unreal, and anything that is realesed about that movie is just GOLD!! Why does March of '09 have to be sooooo far away....."WATCHMEN" will change the landscape of comic adaptations, in the same way the graphic novel did to its medium, and will make every screen writter, director, and studio exect, thinking of doing an adaptation, rethink their approach....trust me...TRUST!!
