'Twilight' Sequel(s) Moving Forward!

What, did you really think they'd only make one? According to the Hollywood Reporter, Summit Entertainment has decided to hang on to the property that has made them, and, heck, why not make it a franchise? Though the first film hasn't arrived in theaters yet, initial buzz from critics isn't horrible (our own James Rocchi told me it was "pretty good"), and so Summit has gone and acquired rights to the next three novels and brought Twilight screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg in to write the screenplays based on New Moon and Eclipse. Breaking Dawn, however, does not have a screenwriter just yet. Though nothing was announced, I'd expect them to shoot two of these suckers back-to-back, but I suppose we'll see which route they take.
As you're probably already aware, Twilight mania has taken the world a bit by storm. The source material has amassed a whole ton of fan sites, the soundtrack has hit number one on the charts and the flick is certainly poised to open big. How big, we do not know, though we'll certainly be asking for your opinion at the beginning of next week -- as well as shoveling out some pretty awesome Twilight interviews; one of which might just be with a girl named Bella -- so stay tuned.
Twilight hits theaters November 21.

Amanda. YOU NEED HELP!!!!!!!! These are real people just like you and me and are playing characters in a movie!!!!! While I love the series, I DO know that it is a fantasy. It is people like you that make actors and musicians pull away & hide from fans. You give them the creeps! I really feel sorry for the actors and musicians on this part of their jobs (having to deal with sickos like you). You need to be in a hospital for a while. Get a grip!

Everyone falls in love ( maybe not literally ) with a fantasy character. Ignore the assholes saying that you need help, because it is perfectly normal - as long as you realize the difference between reality and non-reality. Otherwise, try not to let it descend into an obsession. It is more or less the same thing as crying at a movie.

I kind of understand how you feel.. I read these books constantly and they give me a weird sensation of hope and hollowness all at once.. I want to be in this book so bad.. I want to be part of it.. and when I read the books I feel like I am.. but when I stop reading it all fades..

I've always liked Twilight, and I'm going to see the movie, but the fourth and final book in the series Breaking Dawn was HORRIBLE and at least half of the other die-hard fans agree (Just check the reviews on Amazon.com). I don't know how they expect to make that into a movie, let alone a good one.

I think they should hold open castings in cities across the nation for the supporting roles and extra roles. In Iowa we have been having a big boost in Films being shot here- and there is a lot of untapped potential here. It would help keep costs down and give them a chance to spend more on the special effects they will be needing in the second film. I, for one, am really excited about this film!

I am absolutely thrilled they are making the movies, and have read the books several times myself...... but, I actually REALLY enjoyed the 4th book, and can't wait until they make a movie out of it. I enjoyed pretty much every part of the last book and thought it was very well summed up and ended, the only part that I didn't especially care for was when the narration was switched from bella to jacob. I respect eveyones opinions obviously so can anyone out there who didn't like the 4th book comment why because I have seen quite a few comments from people that say they didn't like it, but no one ever leaves a reason! lol =P

I have only read twilight. The book had me from the start and then went to see the movie which I also loved. I cant wait to read New Moon. After reading some of ur comments, I am afraid of losing interest when I get to Breaking Dawn.
I know this is cheating but, can someone tell me what happens in New Moon when Bella cuts her hand on the B-Day gift that Alice hands her????

*SPOILER!!!* sure thing, she gets the paper cut on her hand and Jasper loses control and tries to attack her, edward stops her but Jasper is very upset so he and Alice leave for a little while..... I won't tell you anymore, but you HAVE to read it. I love the whole series, and don't worry about losing interest with Breaking dawn, it honestly is a very good book and I really am not quite sure why some people don't like it =)
