God Help Us: The Wayanses Return with 'Dance Flick'
Filed under: Comedy, Paramount, Trailers and Clips
In the wake of White Chicks and Little Man, the Wayans Brothers return to grace the world with the presence of next February's Dance Flick, which lampoons last February's Step Up 2: The Streets, not to mention Save the Last Dance, You Got Served, How She Move, maybe Center Stage, possibly Robert Altman's The Company, and probably plenty of stuff that isn't related to actual dance flicks.
Having watched the initial Scary Movie last week for the first time since my formative teen years, their spoof efforts there still aren't on par with SM3 (which they didn't do), but remain above SM2 (which they did do). In short: humor that's dated and crude is right up their alley (I'm frankly impressed they remembered to work Flashdance in), and besides, you saw that break-dancing newborn, right? Call up Calista Flockhart, and count me out already.
Starring the usually amusing Amy Sedaris and the often less so Wayans clan, Dance Flick serves the last laugh to the streets on February 6, 2009.

I would think at this point the Wayans Bros would aim a little higher. The critics hate there work but the public usually turn out on opening weekend. Personally I hated Scary movie. Thought it was awful. Zucker did it much better with parts 3 and 4. I finaly saw Little Man on cable the other night and Laughed. It was so silly but sort of funny. I think Dance Flick will be a tough sell as spoof films are starting to run there course! How many family members do these guys have in the business? Look at the end credits- there are Wayans I've never heard of!

1) Scary movie 3 is absolutely hilarious. Everything else in recent memory spoof wise = not so much
2)Has Marlon Wayans not realized that when he does dramas he can be at least half decent at acting?

im not sure what you are referencing, i know scary movie 3 wasn't marlon. I was just commenting on how fantastic it is.
if you were talking about marlon's acting abulity he has done a few, most importantly requiem for a Dream. http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0005541/

Please, please, PLEASE PLEASE don't post videos with autoplay! It's so annoying! I don't care what movie it's for, post it under a cut!

It's not auto-playing in my own browser, so... I'm not sure what to say. We'll try and bear it in mind, but no one else seems to be complaining so far.

scottR above me had the same comment? I tried opening it up in both Safari and Firefox and it autoplayed in both. Could it be because I don't have a MySpace account? I read up a bit and it seems MySpace users have the option to turn Autoplay off on videos.
Sorry, I didn't mean to be rude before, I just had my volume up loud, forgot about it, and was very suddenly shocked when I opened an innocuous webpage and suddenly found blaring dance music. :P
But if you guys did want to post these sorts of videos under a jump or cut in the future I think the few of us who it does affect would really appreciate it.

Ah. As a MySpace user, perhaps I'd taken it for granted, so again, apologies, and we'll probably skew more to post-jump embedding in the future. Thanks.
