Discuss: Does the World Really Need 'Little Fockers'?
Filed under: Comedy, Casting, RumorMonger, Remakes and Sequels
When bad movie ideas hit the wire and then seemingly dissolve into thin air, there's a chance to breathe that sigh of relief over what could have happened, but didn't. Unfortunately, sometimes months or even years later, we're slapped with the news that silence doesn't necessarily mean death, and that our worst nightmares are coming true.Fox News has "released" word that a sequel to Meet the Parents and Meet the Fockers is happening. We already knew that was the case, since it was confirmed last year, but the news piece does add to it -- Blythe Danner and Robert De Niro are returning. This means that last year's news wasn't a dream, and that Ben Stiller hasn't forgotten about it, no matter what other projects he is busying himself with. We are getting more Fockers. We just don't know if Babs and Dustin are in for the ride as well.
Not that it matters. There are those that love the original, and those who actually like the sequel more, but can't we all agree that a third installment is pushing it. I mean, what're they going to do? Have Gaylord actually try milking a cat for his kid? Do any of you actually want to see that? Are you eager for more Focker hijinx?

Are you kidding me? REALLY?
That second one was so horrible it destroyed my enjoyment of the first one. I can only imagine that a third one just existing will make me dislike Ben Stiller for a long time to come.

I'm with Pudge. I can't believe the people that signed on to the second one (Streisand? Hoffman? WTF?), much less being dragged into a third. The Focker joke is way past tired, btw.

I'm with Pudge and Robin on this one. I literally couldn't bring myself to finish the second film. I have zero interest in a third one.

i unfortunately watched the second film with my wife and father-in-law. yeah, like that whole geriatric sex therapy sequence wasn't awkward enough anyway. this third movie would be a part of my personal playlist - if i was being re-conditioned in clockwork orange.

Gotta go with the consensus here; second one bad. Third one probably worse.
Try being involved in something that's good again for a change, DeNiro.

I'm sure it'll be bad and I'm sure I'll see it. For some reason, both the first one and the sequel are the best movies ever to watch while sick and/or cleaning. I look forward ot adding another movie I can ignore half the time and still understand when it comes on cable.

Fock No! (sorry I had to do it)
The first was hilarious in an OMG I can't handle it kind of way. The second just plain sucked and no one who's not getting a pay check wants to see a third one.

I run The Frat Pack Tribute site over at www.the-frat-pack.com and even *I* don't want to see a third Fockers film.
Loved Meet the Parents.
Liked Meet the Fockers
Likely to hate Meet the Little Focker
Meet the Fockers had it's moments (i.e. it didn't suck totally) but clearly is heading for "diminishing returns" territory.
A sequel that fast-forwards the story to Greg Focker's kids being teens or pre-teens would be much better than "toddler" territory.

Putting out a lit cigar on my balls would be more enjoyable and entertaining than ANOTHER installment of lame rehashed nipple and focker jokes.
