Yesterday we brought you a shoddy You Tube-ish look at the new X-Men Origins: Wolverine trailer, but now MySpace has unveiled the cleaner version and it looks damn good. Very dark, very mysterious -- lots of action, lots of people to fight. I guess that's what you'd expect from a Wolverine flick, right? At first glance, I wasn't crazy about a few special effects sequences (for example, the hanging on to the helicopter bit didn't look great), but Liev Schreiber looks devilish as Sabretooth, and some of the quieter scenes really appear crisp and sharp and worth watching. Real interested to see how this flick will hold up against the other X-Men movies. From what I've heard, X-Men Origins: Wolverine is pretty damn dark and daunting, which is something that's worked for other comic films. As previously mentioned, should this movie become successful, we'll see an origins story for Magneto next.
Check out the trailer below and let us know what you think. X-Men Origins: Wolverine slashes its way into theaters on May 1, 2009.
Just Added: Check out over 40 stills from the new Wolverine trailer below ...

OK i could be wrong but are not the claws from weapon x program? His mutant power is the healing not the claws, which is why he was in the weapon x program because he could survive. So why does he have claws as a child?

Just the adamantium is from weapon X. The claws and healing are natural. Originally the claws are bone, (see Origin, the comic).
My main concern: No mention that he's actually a canucklehead (ie from Canada).
Best part: Gambit and his staff. Much better than the stripper shirt we saw him in earlier.

Eric, he has bone claws as well as healing for his mutation. In the comics it was always thought he just had metal ones until Magneto pulled the metal from his bones and he revealed to have bone claws.
Quick question though, did anyone else notice a very young girl who had a stricking resemblence to Storm?

Certainly looked like a young Storm to me... Dark skin, white hair... I don't see who else it could be.

So... I'm excited for this movie, but that trailer was crap. Who edited that? It had no natural flow. And I'm so sick of trailers that put a clever 3 second clip at the end after a fadeout.

Is Cinematical really the kind of website where the first word from the first commenter is 'first!'?
I hope not.
Anyway, the trailer looked surprisingly good. I haven't been all too enthusiastic about Wolverine, probably because the X-trilogy ended on such a downer, but this looked darn nice.
Gambit certainly looked interesting. And I've always liked Liev Shreiber.
Forgive my Marvel ignorance, but who's the fat bloke?

Ok, THAT was just epic.
At first, I was actually a little sad that you only get to see Ryan Reynolds (sp?) for about 2 seconds, followed by Will.i.am (still not too sure about that casting choice...), but all that was immediately erased once I saw Logan try and take on a friggin' helicopter.
And one word: GAMBIT.
Yowza.
*puts eyes back into her head*
Is it May 1st yet?
