Get Bloody Chills with 'Slaughter' Trailer
Filed under: Horror, Trailers and Clips
It's about to screen during the After Dark Horrorfest, but before it does, a creepy trailer for Slaughter has hit the net and you can check it out above. Not to be confused with this Slaughter (which is, rumor has it, on hold), the film focuses on two girls who befriend each other. The one has an abusive ex, so she moves to her new friend's family farm. Unfortunately, one horror is traded for another.
The film is a mixture of the premise of how well we know our roommates and their families, and the modern-day interpretation of a true story that happened a century ago. What story that is, however, is under wraps -- supposedly to avoid spoiling the film. It looks pretty cool, and it's certainly a mystery to solve. Which true story is it!? Gah ... The curiosity! They took exactly the right angle to lure me in -- my obsession to read up on the true stories behind truth-based films. But what about you?
If you're itching to find out, the film premieres at the fest on January 9th.

For me, since it says the true story took place near Atlanta - I lived there from 1990 to 2002, I cannot recall anything of this nature in the local news. But, the most gruesome true story that could be turned into a horror movie of sorts is the case where a mortician north of Atlanta littered the woods surrounding his crematorium with corpses he didn't, or wouldn't, follow through and cremate. I forget how that case was discovered, but I remember collective shivers when the story broke.

My ex-girlfriends grandfather was among those who wasn't buried. It was a long time ago, so I don't remember all the details, but from what I recall the guys were just too lazy to bury the bodies, and they were running out of room, so they would just take the bodies into the woods and leave them there. Pretty despicable, and I can say from experience that when family members found out what was happening to their loved ones they were horrified. Truly terrible people.
