3-D Gets Erotic
Filed under: Foreign Language, Deals, Remakes and Sequels
It was only a matter of time. Over and over, we keep seeing the third dimension utilized for action, fantasy, and the films created to elicit ooohs and aaahs by moviegoers. And now it will be used to show us the peaks and valleys of the human form as if they're right there in front of us, which will certainly deliver an entirely different set of ooohs and aaahs.Variety reports that Hong Kong is gearing up for a sequel to Sex and Zen. The original, which was based on an erotic Chinese novel called The Carnal Prayer Mat, focused on a horny scholar who teaches his new virgin wife the wonders of sex, and then goes out and gets a new horse's penis and partakes in a sexual rampage whilst leaving his wife unfulfilled. Like the first, this will be a tale of excess leading to tragedy, but I think that's all inconsequential compared to the possibility that the big screen will see equine body parts jutting out of the screen. Then again, that's some excess that could, very certainly, lead to tragedy.
The project has a $3.9 million budget attached, will star actresses from Taiwan and Japan, and should be ready for the masses in December. Are you ready for 3-D to enter the world of sex?

I really doubt this is ever going to play in our American multiplexes next to Wall-E. And I think it would give me new reasons to be afraid of horses.

Uhhh, you mean re-enter, right? Does the word "Stewardesses" mean anything to you??? If not, I suggest you find a screening asap. Made in the 70's, The Stewardesses is CLASSIC, required 3-D viewing, and no, I am not a porn hound. It has a plot complete with classic dialogue, acid trips and, of course, a murder suicide. It will make you laugh until you cry, and then it will make you scream "WHAT THE HELL JUST HAPPENED!?"

I just sent a message reminding the editor of THE STEWARDESSES; glad to hear someone else remembers it. My god, can this film still be seen? I remember it being dumb as dog s**t but I love 3-D!

Certainly not the first sex film to use 3-D. Don't forget THE STEWARDESSES (1969) and I saw a 3-D porn flick in about 1976 but don't remember the title.

In NYC a number of years ago, I saw another 3D porn flick from the 70s, and I'm pretty sure it starred John Holmes. There were only a few 3D scenes in it, which was probably better because the technology and the glasses didn't really "improve" the experience.
