Geek Daily: The Green Hornet Still Stings, Fanboy Release Dates, Ghost Rider 2, and More!

According to its official MySpace, the long delayed Fanboys finally has a limited platform release on February 6: New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Philadelphia, San Fransisco, Seattle, Houston, and Austin. Check your local listings if you live in these cities. (Two guesses where Austin's is!)
If the poster has you worried about those black pants on Dr. Manhattan (which he did wear in the book occasionally) Zack Snyder assured the world that when they sit down on March 6th, you will see all of the Big Blue. Zack Snyder told MTV's Splash Page: "It's an R rated movie, right? What you see in the trailer has to be a little bit squished around so it can get on TV. I think in the final film you'll see it's true to the graphic novel. He's naked." (MTV Splash Page)
Platinum Studios' Investor Hub reports that Cowboys and Aliens, Atlantis Rising, and Dead of Night are all on track to begin filming this year. How is Robert Downey Jr. going to fit that and Iron Man 2 in this year? Hmm.
Now that Neil Jordan is attached to direct The Graveyard Book, surely you want your own graveyard perfume. Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab teamed up with Neil Gaiman over the holidays to produce a series of scents inspired by the book. Eau de Ghoul, with its hints of dessicated skin and mold flecked dirt, sounds particularly enticing.
And speaking of digging up buried objects, Matt Johnson is set to adapt Red 5 Comics' series Afterburn for Relativity Media and Tobey Maguire's shingle Maguire Entertainment. The series centers on a group of treasure hunters who scour the post-apocalyptic, mutant-ridden earth to recover lost treasures like the Mona Lisa. [The Hollywood Reporter] There's a tiny preview of issue #1 on Red 5's site, but not enough to get a feel for it.
Finally, for those who dig spy photos, some photos from X-Men Origins: Wolverine have surfaced on flickr. More can be found from Sam Dauch, tyfn, freinhar, and wagnerthomas. They're all of a prison camp (maybe the Weapon X facility?) that has been built on the University of British Columbia campus. It seems like everyone (including a Cinematical commenter, I believe -- are you out there?) came across this set, and whispers of "Have you seen him?" were heard all day on campus. (I don't have to tell you who "he" was, do I?) [via /film]

Gah, really? Is there anyone, anyone outside of the studio who wants this Green Hornet? Green Hornet people would rather not. Wouldn't Rogen fans rather see him do something else? If it's a spoof, why not spoof something that people actually remember (haven't they learned from Speed Racer ... and that was more recent)? So ... why? Why?

Ghost Rider 2? Really?
My little brother collected Ghost Rider comics and the first movie made me weep when they bypassed every bit of human drama from the mag to make an over-the-top action flick.
This is NOT good.
Nobody tell my brother!

GR2? Hasn't Hollywood learned anything from Daredevil?
Now, if they made GR2 and just let Nic Cage's hair do the acting, it may be better than the first one.

We actually heard that there might be an additional superhero sighting. There is a video included in this post if interested. Enjoy!

The one movie I so want to see is no were near were I live. I so badly want to see Fanboy yet I can't.
As for Ghost Rider 2 I hope they make it better then the first. I think GR could be a great franchise if they stay more closely to the what made Ghost Rider cool.
