Listen: Christian Bale Goes American Psycho on Poor Cinematographer
Filed under: Celebrities and Controversy, Fandom, Home Entertainment

Well if they ever decide to stage a sequel to Anger Management, I'd personally like to nominate Mr. Christian Bale to star. In a new piece of leaked foul-mouthed audio, Bale absolutely GOES OFF on some dude for walking where he wasn't supposed to and distracting the talent during a scene. Man, I would not want to be on the other end of Bruce Wayne's rant right here; he sounds like he's about to crucify the poor schmuck ... and all for trying to fix a light, or something.
According to TMZ, this took place on the set of Terminator Salvation after the director of photography "accidentally ruined a scene by walking onto the set." That would be Shane Hurlbut, who's shot tons of films like Swing Vote, Semi-Pro, Waist Deep, Drumline, etc ... (And yes, it kinda does scare me that the guy who shot Drumline is in charge of capturing post-apocalyptic creepiness for the next Terminator flick, but what can you do.) TMZ also says that Bale threatened to walk if this guy wasn't fired, and as such execs sent this tape to the company that insured the film just in case he ditched.
You can listen to the audio over here, but keep in mind it's filled with F-bombs and in no way safe for work. What do you think of Bale acting out like this? Does it change your opinion of him?

Well this is out of context and it sounds like the guy has done this on more then one occasion. But that is still no excuse to go off on him like that. He keeps saying be a professional. well maybe he should act like one too.

Could you possibly be a little MORE wishy washy with your response? You actually sounded like you were going to make some sort of statement, instead, you sounded like a villager from Southpark when they were interviewed about the confederate flag.

I agree as well. The guy was doing it for the X time. Possibly during a hard scene for Bale. Made him distracted and he lost it. do i think less of him? No, but i think that if he has rage issues, he should work on that . You get nothing from yelling at someone in any situation. To let the guy know woulf of been sufficient, even blunt eg " hey get off the set when i work!" that woulf of been to the point , forcefull enough IMO. But i like the guy and his work anyway. Take a breather Chris, 10-9-8-...

Sounds more like the guy murdered bruce waynes parents or burned down his mansion, what a total loss of respect for Christian Bale. Money changes all and with that outrage you can tell people in his position believe they are of a higher "being" then everyone else..

For some reason, this makes me like him more. I think it's because his basic ass-iness made me giggle maniacally.

Awful! Now the whole "beating up his mother" story makes sense. I didn't believe it before, but it seems more likely now.

He didn't beat his mother. Verbal Abuse is a crime in England. This is probably what he did to his mom.

I find it ironic that a star such as Bale would act in such an unprofessional way. Clearly, if the DP is walking in the shot then they are not filming Bale. They are rehearsing. I can understand if Bale was irritated by it, but it's not the end of the world. Whatever performance he was giving wasn't going to be recorded.
Is it too much to ask some of these hyper-sensitive actors to accept the fact that other people are working hard around them to make them look good. That's what the DP was trying to do. Make Bale look good. Instead, Bale made himself out to be an ass.

I couldn't agree more with your comment. If the DP is on the set, I SERIOUSLY doubt that the cameras were rolling. Usually the DP has his own monitor and works directly with the camera ops who take their cue to roll from the A.D. (usually). So chances are..twitlick was trying to rehearse and the DP was doing his job. What an acehole Bale is. I hate this guy now. Who would ever want to work with a guy that threatens to throw a tantrum and walk off a set because some guy tried to do his job during a rehearsal. This is even worse than something, idiotsniff Matt Damon would do.

It certainly makes you rethink this past summer when he got in trouble right when the Dark Knight came out for alleged physical abuse against his family. I'd be curious if this short temper is a recurring pattern for him.
Either way, since it doesn't appear that this is a joke (and if it was, it's a pretty tasteless one at that), it does make me think less of a guy that's considered one of the best actors of his generation.

God! What a fucking ego!! Bale: "i'm in the second biggest movie of all time and think that i can just flip out on anyone i want cause i'm real important in my own mind". Which he clearly can. What happen to the old days of real directors putting those pussy actors in their place! i'd like to see him try that shit around Kubrick!!...... Mcg: "i'm afraid of you Batman and i'm for sure not going to say anything to the studio cause after CHUCK'S BITCHES and FASTLANE i'm lucky to be even on a movie set"!!! Bales just bitter cause LEDGER stole the show from him in Batman......Didn't he also beat up his mom and sister or something like that?? I think he needs to be put back in prison camp in Empire of the Sun! That'll show 'em
